It's fairly easy, although not every single game is rippable. I've already done Code Veronica, too. Which is the only PS2 RE game that can have the FMV's ripped. Outbreak and Outbreak File 2 are only rippable via other means.

The only tool i've found that works, is Cube Media Player. Which can also do some Dreamcast and Xbox games.

how did you do the RE4 rips ? cause im using this other tool called FMVTOOL to extract the movie files and it works for some games like god of war 2 (works for kingdom hearts 2 too, but no audio, its encrypted) .. and when i scanned the RE4 disc with it it didnt find any movie streams at all ..

i have the Pal RE4 btw.

edit : nvm, cube player seems to be able to find Re4's streams.

Why would you want to rip the RE4 PS2 cutscenes? They are the exact once from the PC version.

i didnt make this topic to specifically ask for RE4 cutscenes, its a ps2 FMV ripping thing in GENERAL.

@prime, ok found a working keygen, its registered now, but even then its only exporting audio and video files separate :( it extracts the raw data file as well, any media players for the .sfd extention ?

You need to mux them together. You can use VirtualDub for that easily.

Found a very good way to rip RE4 movies and a lot of other game movies using this method. You only need free apps for this.
Cant remember exactly how i ripped RE4 movies, but usually i do this:

1. I look for files that seem to be movie files, or big files in general.
1.a. if i find pss files i copy them on pc, then drag and drop in the Pssdemux app and i'll have generated a mpg2 file and a wav file.
2. I get files that look suspicious and copy them in a folder. Then open command line, go into that folder and run rippss. Example: the file is named "bigfile.dat". Just run in command line "rippss bigfile.dat".
If there are movie files it'll be extracted as pss files. Then go to step 1.a. and extract the video and audio files.
3. to make a video file from the two just use VirtualDubMod, or anything that can put audio over video. I use VurtualDUbMod cuz i save my files as xvid avi with mp3 audio, so the files are smaller than mpg.

If you are not able to rip the movies from RE4 PS2 disc just tell me so i'll make it clearer for that special case.

It's a good thing the PS2 used movies instead of actual 3D gameplay, otherwise, the only way you could have captured the events would have been to play the game until the point where that scene was triggered and then captured it using a capture card...

I bought the Wii version the day it came out... Albeit without a Wii :\ Once I find one though... I will be unstoppable--err--I mean I will be able to investigate the matter at hand completely.
