Resident Evil made me go to a small town and kill everyone. I had to because the T-Virus was gonna hit and we would of been doomed anyway :o

I love it when people don't read my posts.
It was Posted Tuesday April 1st 2008.

Not to mention theres no proof of newspapers doing it, nor does the 'informative' article mention names of newspapers or anything even resembling a solid allegation.

Yeah,i think it's fake.

On the topic of hating games. Here in Australia about a month ago the government was thinking of introducing R18 games.Every states Governor General had no problem with it except the South Australian Governor General.Just because of him,we can't have R18 games in Australia.GTAIV has to be edited.

It only encourages piracy and most games here that are MA15 should be R18.

Yeah, I heard Australia has a pretty shodding rating system, everyone I know there including family either import or pirate games cause of the edited content and farsical release times.

No, not really. A release date is a release date, you can't speed it up or slow it down. Also, we let Carmageddon 2: Carpocalypse Now by, completely uncut, with an MA15+ rating. How good is that? I heard it's the UK that always cuts the games.

This coming from a country which Banned Mortal Kombat? :p

Nope, till the rating systems were established granted there were changes to games on SNES/Genesis formats etc.
But once the age ratings came through most games went through without being chopped up.

Its only high profile violent games like Manhunt 2 which the censorship boards took fancy too nowadays, but thats more or less been resolved *the game is shite anyway*.
Its usually a huge deal when a game is ordered to be cut here.

Like Rule Of Rose? >_>
Why the hell they banned that I dunno.

The Dude

Probably because it featured children in it.
Played the american version, didn't think much of it, but parts were pretty twisted.

But come on! You can't get gorier than Carmageddon 2! Killing those poor innocent animals like penguins, sheep, reindeer, then dismembering people to your heart's content. You also get 'combo' bonuses for running down a heap of things in a row. Is that what they think of life in the game? You gotta kill as much as possible just to get combos? IS THAT WHAT LIFE IS DEGRADED TO IN THAT GAME? Yeah, the goriest game ever.

I've played the European Rule Of Rose, dunno what country from, but it's basically in English aswell, I have no idea if it's different from the American version, but oh well.

What's Rule Of Rose?

Gradon
04-16-2008, 11:21 AM
A Survival Horror game that got banned from the UK and Australia, I have no idea why, exactly.

The Dude
04-16-2008, 04:01 PM
European Version isn't that different from the American one to be honest, can't recall if it was a 50htz or 60htz game but besides that the content was the same.

Rule of Rose is a game where a bunch of kids abuse an adult...however, that somehow got twisted around into a adult abusing kids, and was hence banned. The words Child and Abuse appeared with the game, and so it was gone. The game itself isn't that bad. Well...other than being a pretty pants game.

The Dude

The game depressed me, not cause of the content, just cause it was crap.

Helegad

Only for PS2, it seems. I've looked on eBay.

Gradon

The game isn't that bad, the only thing that was a bit off was the fact how they abused Jessica(?).
I've only played to the part where you have to fight the mermaid boss; can't kill it...
