Good title. I wonder why people haven't used it before.

Looks alright, but I'm not exactly high on another CamCorder horror movie. On the other hand, being sealed in a quarantined apartment building is a new one for me, so it could be interesting.

Is this really zombies though? I remember reading on this and technically they weren't zombies, don't remember.

I'm with you, i really hope Cloverfield (which was crap and predictable) hasn't started of a trend of these things. This looks alright i suppose, as in alright for a download and i'll watch it when i've nothing better to do, not something i'd go pay money for.

Well, we've had The Zombie Diaries (which were godawful), the Diary of the Dead (which I haven't seen yet but have heard is fairly average, especially for a Romero movie) and Cloverfield, all pretty recently.
The problem as I see it is this: it makes no sense for people, when dealing with any kinda monster, to keep hold of a camcorder. And, in the case of the Zombie Diaries at least, it wasn't nessecery for the plot. If it's used a plot point, then excellent. If it's a gimmick...eh.
And even if it's not zombies it's a similar category, like the Shibito in Siren and the Infected in 28 Days Later. Former humans turned into mindless killing machines.

Like the village residents in RE4? :)

To a point. They retain too much intelligence and humanity for my taste, so I don't really qualify them as a monster.

Humanity? I haven't played RE4 but rushing at you with axes and chainsaws doesn't appear to be a humanitarian act.

...you haven't met some of the people in my hometown. One of them went around shooting at us with an air rifle. The ploice claimed it didn't happen, since no one was seriously hurt and it would bump up the crime numbers.
Yah.
But mostly I'm talking about them talking, co-operating, even farming and going about there daily lives relatively normally. Until things start popping out there skull the only reason they're different from people is there unusually aggressive...and some have an infitinite supply of axes.

I'd smash a guy's face in if he shot at me with an air rifle for no reason. Fuck that.

Not to mention the death rates in the UK for no reason. >_>
"I-I was only havin' a laugh!"
They're disgusting, oh well.
Yeah, RE4's are more Human.

His excuse was he didn't think it would hurt. Bollocks, of course, but he did manage to gain the ire of three out of four of the town's thug families. He got jumped on. It was most amusing.

Just like Corey Worthington getting bashed up here in Australia. Don't know him? Well, what he done was threw a massive party with 500+ uninvited teenagers turning up and trashing the joint. About $20,000+ of damage was done, and he became a national "legend". His fifteen minutes of fame are pretty much up though, because he tries to be a party-maker and tours Australia looking for parties to gatecrash and make "better". He got bashed up recently, and everyone laughed.

It comes out this Friday. I did want to catch [REC] before watching this, but NO ONE has it. Guess I'll have to catch [REC] when ever I can. I know I'm gonna see Quarantine sometime this weekend though!

You mean the actual film itself? Best delete that post and discuss it via PM instead. :P

I'd advise you to see [REC] first if you can PO, it's an exceptionally good film. I expect this to suffer "american remake" syndrome and be a poor copy of the original film. I mean for example the poster and trailer for the US ver. shows... ...the end of the film. That doesn't instill confidence in it for me.

I've still not seen the original, but me and my two best friends went to see Quarantine tonight. Very suspenseful, I'll give it that though.

I'm boycotting this film out of principal, since as you may know, it is a remake of a Spanish film called [REC] which saw a limited release here in the UK back in November 2007. I'm normally one to just ignore pointless remakes, but the lightning speed in which this project came to fruition is just worrying and baffling. 10 months after the initial release of [REC], a remake has already been 'written', cast, produced, and churned out with an almost careless haste. It's totally absurd... There's no point in remaking something that came out less than a year ago. REC hasn't even been given a screening in the US. Why don't the producers just buy the rights to release REC instead of making their own 'version'?
I'm pretty insulted that someone out there thinks that i'm too lazy to read subtitles and assumes i'd rather have a completely remade film with English speaking actors. Nobody is that lazy. Get a soul, hollywood.

This looks interesting enough, when it finally does arrive here I'll give ti a go.
As for this REC movie, never heard of it >_> Probably will never see it. =P
