This one has been on the back burner for a few weeks, but we finally finished up our feature on it. I've compiled all the information I can find about the history of the project, along with some of the controversy surrounding its release onto the net. A huge thanks goes to Wesker from Survivhor (http://www.survivhor.com) for helping out with some of the facts, Carnivol for helping out with the subtitles, and TheSelfishGene for providing pictures and a summary of finding a stand-alone unit in Japan.

Finally, I've posted what I hope is our final encode of the film, weighing in at just over 700MB. A streaming option is also available.

So what are you waiting for? Hear on over to the 4D Feature (http://www.the-horror.com/index.php?id=features&s=4d) now!

If you guys want some more pictures, head over to Survivhor. They have some excellent stuff there regarding this, after a forum member visited Japan and went to Capcom's offices and the 4D ride.

Excellent video quality. And the new subtitles cleared up a few things.
So, she actually wanted to find a way to become human again?

Yep, that was her goal after whatever accident turned her into the creature. I wonder what her intentions are. Not wanting Umbrella to get her data, I guess she knew it would be used for bio-weapon purposes.

Suddenly she seems not so much of a cold bitch. Heh.

It seems I accidentally uploaded the old flash codec when this went live, so I've just updated it to a higher quality one. If you streamed it before, try again. The quality should be greatly improved.

Are the subs MAJORLY different from the other 4D video?

So you can decide which one to steal for your website?

No chance you could clean the video quality up? i've been looking for online forensic services for cleaning up songs myself.

The version of 4D-Executer that is up now is pretty much the THE BEST version you can get.

Only "changes" that could've been made to "enhance" the experience is if we'd spend half a forever on correcting the flicker/tracking/whatever for the material out on the edges that we cropped out. Along with evt. do some manual adjustments to the colors and brightness settings in some scenes + by hand do frame-by-frame color bleed correction.

This is simply too much work for something that would've been a total waste of time if we could locate a better source for this video than the poor VHS->DVD transfer we've got that someone else had done with poor outdated equipment.

The video doesn't work for us in VLC, it gives us an error and won't open the player.

Nah, just wondering if it's worth the 700MB download that would take up just under a tenth of my monthly bandwidth allowance.

Thanks dot50cal for posting the video in such high-Q that it still retains some of its 3dness or (4dness). i dont know if any of you saw the movie beowolf but if you stil have the 3d glasses, you should check out executer with them. its a wonderful experience, except for the ocastional compression error which reminds me that i had a question. is it somehow possible to get this file as a m2v file (Mpeg2) instead of a mp4. But a thanks guys for posting this with subs you guys did a great job.

Why not just convert it yourself?

Why you would want it as an MPEG2 though is beyond me. XD

Perhaps it's easier to turn it into a VCD/DVD?

Because if i converted it from Mp4 to mpeg2 it would still carry the compression errors prevalent in with the mp4 format. also it would allow the 3d effect to pull threw much stonger. and also my reasoning for doing this would be to put on dvd. also what software did you use to edit this with? was it Final Cut?

I used Avisynth. I can't provide you with an mpeg2 copy, the mp4 is all we have now. The quality that x264 delivers is much superior to that of mpeg2, so if you did convert it, there wouldn't be many issues with compression.

Funny it doesn't look 3-D does this work with 3-D glasses?

I can see with a lot of work it could be true 3-D using Solid Eye glasses from Metal Gear Acid 2 on the PSP but that would take a loss in frames to grab the images then using stereoscopic separation to get the effect..hmm sounds like a fun project though.

Pretty sure this copy was obtained from a VHS promo, and thus it wouldn't have the 3d effect on it.

I did see this a few years back and glad to watch it again. This is why I come to this site. Good work guys.

I wanted to convert this into a full DVD including menu's and chapters, as well as a nice DVD cover, but don't know where to really begin.

The DVD cover will be easy; just whip something up in photoshop in the appropriate dimensions. The menu/chapter system is something I've never done before, so I'll have too look into that. ^_^

You can use DVDLabPro for it. If you are skilled in video edition you can even add a loop movie for the background of the menus. It's a very versatile software.

Never tried DVDLabPro, but Ulead's DVD Movie Maker is about the easiest DVD authoring software I've ever used. The only problem I had with that one was that last time I tried it it didn't have proper framerate (up)conversion for 24->30fps. But we're talking like 4 years ago... surely they must've fixed that by now

Anyway, fortunately our encode of the Biohazard 4D Executer did not go through any framerate tinkering, and is 30 FPS, just like the VHS->DVD source we got it from (to be honest, I've not bothered to check if that's the real framerate of it, but since it was made for a DVD powered ride... I guess it might've been rendered in 30 FPS all the way anyway.)
