The List can go on and on.

And others can vote. There will be nominees and runner ups. The title can be displayed on their avatar or something. It'll just be fun. I think it will definitely encourage users to post more.
Also members should be able to question whether or not who should recieve an award for what. And then a panel will decide.

    It'll just be fun!

I find it interesting how the majority of those titles fit you.
        See you in hell.

I don't think we need any type of labeling.

Some people manage to do stuff that "awards them" a custom title, and evt. belong to somewhere notable so they can have a group logo too, I think those two are enough.

I'm content with the little touches they've already added, like:

            - picture & name of an RE creature based on post count, which is kind of like a ranking
            - # of posts
            - ability to add personalized avatar
            - status indicator, like the one under your name Beasley. It says "Banned."

Yeah, the webmasters here have enough subtle recognition tools in place.

Yep. I suppose at the end of the year, I'll start contacting some old members, or some people who've been good contributors to see about custom titles.

                  *offers a cough drop*

These things end up turning into popularity contests, imho.

*accepts cough drop because it's a nice sugary product but keeps on coughing because it's a fake cough and does not need any medical assistance*

If by eternity you mean week, then yes.

I don't think there's any need for such things, outside the staff and moderators.
