The Majini Makeover application allows users to modify photos into Resident Evil 5 Majini by adding wounds, stitches, Uroboros-ish worms, and more nasty goodness. Well, Capcom always did have a sense of humor. You can use photos taken from a personal or friends' public gallery and show off your Maijini creations.

Additionally, anyone who does post their altered photos in a public Facebook gallery will be entered to win a new desktop PC, Resident Evil collectibles, copies of RE5, or one of five Intel Core i7 processors -- at least we assume you can only win one. Pretty good deal all the same.

Mmm... I don't know, I'm pretty sure I read that interview, and it was about another thing: they asked if RE5 would be ported to the wii now that the "PS3 Wand Version" was coming out and seemed to work the same way as RE4: Wii Edition did, so then Takeuchi sed that (“With the difference...").

Part of Capcom's plan to bring the franchise to a larger audience includes the Wii Resident Evil titles. Since Resident Evil 5 is coming to the PS3 with wand motion controllers, it would make sense for Capcom to bring the title over to the Nintendo Wii.

Wii ports might be possible, but according to Takeuchi, "With the difference between hardware specs for the Wii and the PS3, porting might be hard. We currently have no plans."

Capcom plans to release two new downloadable episodes, a host of new costumes, and a new ‘ The Mercenaries Reunion’ mode, featuring eight new playable characters and weapon load-outs. All of this content will be available for download via Xbox Live and PSN next year.

For those Resident Evil fans who prefer a box copy, we are also pleased to announce that we will be releasing a Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition that will include the original game plus all additional content, making this the ultimate Resident Evil 5 experience. A refresh of Mercenaries Mode, ‘ The Mercenaries Reunion’, gives players new playable characters and weapon load-outs which provide players additional challenges as they aim to shoot down as many enemies as they can within a limited time. Each piece of downloadable content will contain two new playable characters. The Gold Edition will feature all eight.

Koch Media dismisses the distribution of the game in SPAIN (RE5 Gold Edition)

We bring bad news for Spanish fans of Resident Evil is that the Gold edition of Resident Evil 5 will not come out in physical format (disk) in our country as confirmed by the game's distributor, Koch Media.

Resident Evil's estranged father, Shinji Mikami was on the news today.


Vanquish has some of the 'essence' of Resident Evil 4, according to superstar designer and Resi creator, Shinji Mikami.

"We didn't really go back and reference Resident Evil 4," Mikami told CVG.

"However, there are a few staff members from that project on the Vanquish team, so I suppose you could say that some of the 'essence' of that game has carried over into this one."

The Resident Evil series, I want people to play it on the Nintendo 3DS. This will be a complete original. As a game, it will make you want to explore all sorts of secrets. I think 3D images make players wonder what's at the end of the hallway or what's behind the furniture. We're making it so it's really like watching a movie in 3D, so it's very engaging. Zombie hordes will come at you with more behind it, and when you see that it will make you think you have to shoot faster. By the game being in 3D, it can bring more fun and excitement to the players.

We've been making several Resident Evil games, but this one will be the real thing. It will be a complete original, similar to Resident Evil 5.

Sceenshots of said Afterlife crap (just to show, it's not a joke), and to further back it up - looks utterly horrid and has been reported, to apparently be glitchy (crashes upon loading). Of course, to be somewhat expected as a general marketing scheme (and one that's been rolled out as a freebie).

(Too lazy to crop the screens though - just couldn't get online earlier to upload, so I've just uploaded them now from my phone).
