Well, if the game is suppose to be sold at retail in Japan, then it must be censored. That's how they roll in the land of the rising sun.

All the previous Japanese editions were censored. Even the last version for the Wii was censored in Japan.

Is that really all the game has to offer?

I will be very disappointed if the RPD, sewers, hospital, and other known areas are not in the game. In fact, if they are not in the game, I'm not buying it. If Capcom wants to keep being lazy, I'm not supporting it.

Remember, when Capcom is lazy making their games, and over-porting them, when you buy those products, all you do is encourage them to keep doing it.

Akira Yamaoka is signing all Shadows of the Damned soundtracks sold internationally as an apology and thank you for the prices due to the exchange rates and shipping fees.

Because they were also surprised/impressed with how quickly it sold out on the weekend it was released on, they plan to press an additional 500 copies in the future after they do their first 1000 copies.

The Shadows of the Damned artbook is due for release on September 9th, whether they mean it for the Northern or Southern Hemisphere's dates I'm unsure of so time will tell.

Several gaming sites (except for Resident Evil sites) are reporting on the upcoming October 7-9 marathon "Benefit Evil: Killing zombies for kids".


Benefit Evil is a fundraising effort set up by five enthusiastic gamers who are keen to kill zombies for children. As such, between October 7 and 9, the team will be indulging in a three day Resident Evil marathon in aid of Child's Play. They'll be livestreaming the event on their website as well as offering audience participation through a chat facility.

The team isn't just sticking to the most well-known Resident Evil titles in their quest either. Over the course of the three days, they'll be playing Resident Evil: Directors Cut, Resident Evil 2, 3, Code Veronica, Zero, 4, 5, Umbrella Chronicles, Outbreak and Outbreak File #2, Survivor, Dead Aim and Dark Side Chronicles along with the Gamecube remake of the original game.

Last year, the team hoped to raise $2,000 from their zombie-slaying efforts and managed to surpass this thanks to some very generous donations. They hope to do even better this year.

New details from the NYCC's Resident Evil 15th Anniversary Panel, summarized:


- Revelations producer discussed new box art and explains how the game will return to its roots. "More zombies fewer bullets".

-Revelations will be a huge story connector. Explains the formation of the BSAA.

- Jill and Chris will go their separate ways. Dark isolated atmosphere. Complete survival horror game.


- Jessica's history and background relates to Chris. She's jealous of Jill's relationship to Chris.

- Lots of puzzles, resemblant to the early era of Biohazard.

- Veltro's role is huge to the series as a whole. We will find out more in the coming months.

- Bringing back the original feel of '96 is the goal of Revelations.

- Compared to Chris and Jill, Parker and Jessica share more of a human element.

- Producer of Raccoon City explains ORC is a polar opposite to REV. Shoot faster and think faster.

A recent Resident Evil: Revelations preview:

Weapons and their respective upgrades...


Capcom showed us a standard pistol given to you at the beginning of the game, then one that had been upgraded with unlocks. They transformed it from a flimsy pea-shooter into a head-popping device of death. Building your arsenal, and chasing those elusive S rankings, is Raid mode's reason for being, and it seems like a fun and addictive aside to the single-player story

About the enemies...


To make things harder, enemies have different parameters applied to them. If one has a fist icon above its head, that means it's tough and aggressive. A shield icon means it will take a lot of hits to kill. It's an interesting system, forcing you to constantly rethink your tactics.

Raid Mode multiplayer impressions...


It was tense and entertaining but having another player there didn't really add anything to the experience. If anything it actually made it more clumsy because we found we kept getting separated. Raid mode, it seems, is better as a single-player experience, although we only tried one map. It could fare better in more open levels.

Resident Evil 6 to take place in China?
Earlier today we posted a link to New York-based voice over actor Joe Cappelletti listing Resident Evil 6 as one of his recent works. Two more voice over actors have popped up during the day, both confirming roles in said game. One of them, Wendy Mok, lists her work as “Chinese Villager/Zombie”. Interesting, isn’t it?

Does this mean the setting for the upcoming numbered title will be there? Are the rumours of Ada’s heavy involvement in the plot true? Hopefully we’ll find out soon enough!

- new Ooze types will actually shoot projectiles at you
- some are far more physically powerful
- game has a balance of dishing out enough ammo to the player, as well as making sure you manage your supplies
- one point in the game you lose your ammo and guns, but still have to deal with Ooze
- you'll come across a fast-moving, twisted fish that simply attempts to bite your head off
- there's also a demonic water cockroach
- these enemies are tough to kill with traditional weapons
- Hunters make an appearance as well

Capcom will be holding a special event in early 2012 to commemorate the 15th anniversary of one of its major franchises, Resident Evil.

Revelations players can collect helpful in-game items when passing other 3DS owners of the game. These bits and pieces can then be dropped into the game's story mode by selecting a parachute icon.

Then in Raid mode, which remixes areas for co-operative missions, StreetPassing will unlock further locations and tougher enemies.

Revelations is a pick 'n' mix of the series' iconography and mechanics, then. It takes the best and worst of Resident Evils past and present, and spot welds them together unevenly. If the designers had committed wholeheartedly to either polarity of action or horror, Revelations might have been a head shot, but what we're left with is more of a glancing blow.

IGN seems to confirm that RE6 is on the way!


For the first time in Resident Evil history, Leon Kennedy and Chris Redfield will both be playable characters in Capcom's ambitious sixth main entry in its survival horror series. Sources within the development team have started to give IGN a broad picture of the game's scope, which certainly seems larger than any Resident Evil title we've seen so far. This news comes on the heels of the leaked logo and release date for the game.

Capcom made their official announcement yesterday that Resident Evil 6, the next sequel in their flagship survival horror series, is in development and will release on November 20, 2012. But while the promise of a new chapter in the RE saga is exciting (and the debut trailer amazing), there may be an unintended casualty from this news: Capcom's upcoming console game Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City -- made by Canadian developer Slant Six Games -- could be a victim of the Osborne Effect.

The Osborne Effect is a term that refers to the unintended consequences of pre-announcing a future product when there's already something similar for sale. Naturally, consumers prefer the new/better thing and not an inferior product. According to this new article from CVG, Capcom UK's head of marketing thinks that it makes perfect sense for Capcom to explore action "more fully" with Resident Evil.

This is what he said...


"We've seen the popularity of Resident Evil increase massively as the series became more action oriented - Resident Evil 5 is the biggest seller in the series. So, it makes sense for us to follow this action area more fully."

He added of Operation Raccoon City: "The dream would be that the millions of Call of Duty fans that are enjoying these fast-paced online games are attracted to this Resident Evil."
