You talkin' to me? You talkin' to me? Then who the hell else are you talking... you talking to me? Well I'm the only one here. Who the fuck do you think you're talking to?

Thing is, majority of the people who were Duke fans back in the day are either dead or insane.

Another negative review to add to the pile:
5.0 Presentation
Duke has not aged well. As simple as he ever was, as irrelevant as he's ever been.
Ouch. Sounds like Duke fans expecting more of the same silliness will be satisfied, and everyone else should steer clear.

Due to a pricing cock-up, some Blockbuster stores had the game on shelves for £3.70 or something like that instead of £40. Don't even think it was worth THAT price to be honest.

The release date of this game is "When it's done". Anything else, and we mean anything else is someone's speculation. There is no date. We don't know any date. If you have a friend who claims they have "inside info", or there's some game news site, or some computer store at the mall who claims they know - they do not. They are making it up. (So is Metacritic!) There is no date. Period. And yes, we know the game has taken a long time. There's no possible joke you could make about the game's development time that we haven't already heard. :) [3D Realms]

Mega bump because it's out over here today.
Played it for a couple of hours on PS3 so far. I think it's not great, but not bad either. If you're a Duke fan you'll enjoy it, fans of FPS in general will probably find it lackluster - it's not pushing any content/gameplay boundaries. Definitely see a high rental rate on this but perhaps not so much on the purchase by the general masses.
It feels like a true successor to Duke3D though with all the little interactive touches. I find the on-screen prompts a little fickle though, you can be standing right in front of something and it wont appear and then you can move a fraction and it'll pop up. Graphics are all over the place in quality. Load times are quite long for levels, but the levels are generally large. Cheese factor is through the roof, some of it is funny - some of it is just groan inducing (like the Christan Bale ranting Talk Show guest near the start)... but generally okay.
Edit - The Balls of Steel set was surprisingly good though, the paper items I could leave (postcards, sticker, mini-paper craft Duke, pack of half sized cards) but the art book is actually really decent, the dice are cool, and the Duke bust, while slightly smaller than I'd expected, is really solid and heavy.Last edited by Rombie; 06-09-2011, 09:45 PM.
