I haven't been able to play them since my PS2 stopped playing games. But are they going to make one for the PS3, survival horror has been severely lacking these days.

And I agree, that Tattooed Priestess was one SCARY bitch!

I didn't find the twin sisters from FF2 to be annoying (but I can see how some people would). I actually became emotionally attached to them and the story, perhaps more so than any other game I've played. The first time I played it and was given the choice to run away and save myself or fight on to 'rescue' my sister, I was like, "Hang on baby! I'm a comin for ya!!! I PROMISED we'd always be together!"
It's probably why when I play the previous two it feels almost 'unfinished' because I'm more accustomed to the FF3 improvements. But that by no means makes them bad, they still have their little frights with that fear inspiring 'random encounters' that happen. Oh! I remember when I stood in a room doing nothing for too long and Tattoo lady popped over to tell me to get back to work. I had to place the controller (on pause) away and go have about 20 ciggarettes to calm myself down.

I agree about the twins. I did get attached to them, or else I would've put the game away or made Mio get the runaway ending and leave Mayu to herself. Mayu runs away too often. Why not make the WHOLE game of trying to find her, instead of finding her, having her run, and then tracking her down, and then running off again. Although admittedly my sister asked me if I would go after her if it were us, so with that emotional blackmail I felt more protective of Mayu. Still annoying tho, like sisters are. Bleh!

I know! The least scary ghost was that falling woman in FF2. Comical! Except when she random encounters you, then its "AAAAHHH- oh, it's her."

You didnt find that the bad camera angles, the limited movements, and 'clunkier' controls made the game a little tenser. You as the player are at a huge disadvantage to the ghosts that can not only teleport, but go invisible and also walk through walls?

It made me feel so inadequate.

No you don't need to mod the Wii (but the patch kinda does it when you install it)

I've always been told to try these games out when I get reccomendations for games or some that are missing from my library.

I played the first one for the first time YEARS ago. I was kinda liking it, but then it just seemed to "die out" on me and was unsatisfied; returned it.

Sometimes later again, I tried it again, the 2nd one to be exact and still was unsatisfied.

Now I don't know if I stopped playing because I wanted a good scare, but didn't work or I didn't even get too far to even get to the scary moments. Maybe it was the fact that the controls felt clunkier than other horror games I've played.

Because I played FF3 first it would always be the 'improved' version of FF2. And it was much much longer which I liked. And it was scarier I suppose, more BOO'S! happening all over the places. But FF2 is good, besides how annoying Mayu is. Or is it Sae? Either way, their both annoying. But the Blue Priestess was SCARY! I could tell Sae she is annoying to her face, but I would never say it to Blue Tattoo Priestess Ladies face (or whatever her name was).

Most people like the origionals because it was the first EVER and will always be the first ever so FF3 is like FF1 to me hehe!

^So the first one is better than the 2nd one you don't remember and the 3rd and 4th ones, which you never played?
Hard to argue with that logic!

You're not alone though. Some people like the original best. I thought the later games do a lot of things much better but in some other ways, the first one was better.
I loved how new and different it was, to anything else I had played. It has a fantastic story and atmosphere and is genuinely creepy/scary. And I REALLY liked how every single ghost in the game, has a reason for being there and a story behind it (which is explained well in the game with notes and clues). The later games are guilty (at times) of throwing ghosts at you for the sake of gameplay.
But I think they are all brilliant games. Each one is 'best' in some ways but not as good in other ways. Personally, 'Crimson Butterfly' is the one I think I'll always remember most fondly.

first was one the best i thought. xbox version was easily better than than the ps2 version, with the enhanced visuals, added costumes and higher difficulty. 2nd one i beat once, from renting it, and i don't remember it at all. to me, the scariest thing about the fatal frame series is the floating head. never in my life have i ever seen a creepier ghost than that one.

It is a disturbingly creepy game, that nana with a pram in FF3 was just wrong.

All the series start to get tired if they carry on too much, probably it's just the fans that are getting tired because I played FF3 first before seeing any of the others, and I thought it was the best horror game I had ever come across.

QUESTION: Is there any way that i can get FF3 playing on xbox360?

I'd definitely say the first one was the best as even this series started to show signs of being a little tired by 3 IMHO but I still rate it very highly as I was creeped out by FF3 far more than RECV/4/5 put together.

FYI Darkmoon et all: Google the Japanese name and presto:

I heard that there was a patch for the FF4 but I dont have a wii, nor do I particularly want one either. I'm gonna have to give that game a miss and wait for FF5 (not PS3, not PS3). However long that may take.

That Haunting Ground game was okay, I loved my doggie ^.^ Whats the Rule of Rose? Never heard of that before.

Yes. I know. I'm sorta hoping someone else might have some idea...or sell me a copy they no longer desire.
