where is this self righteousness coming from? to be perfectly honest if anyone is coming across a little pretentious about their personal preference in music it would be you.

That's a big assumption, I'm a big fan of rock and old school rap, and yeah that's something you had to read twice to really understand doesn't mean he's being self righteous, self righteous woulda been if he said "I never understand what those rappers say (Followed by) rockers on the other hand I can understand"

Once again "I don't listen to mainstream rap anyway everything since 1997 has for the most part sucked nobody cares about the struggle anymore".

Rap was once good, but has gone to hell fast recently with no talent idiots running the show.

Pac, Biggie, Em (Old Em), Nas, etc. is where rap shines, I've never been into the gangbanging aspect of rap, it's just stupid that these people glorify what they know they're trying to escape from anyway.

I wouldn't say rap is the greatest genre, in fact I think it's one of the weakest genre's. While it takes talent to write the lyrics themselves very few have any real substance to them, reason why Pac was good.

Rap also relies on machines to make the instrumentals which usually sound pretty chaotic and annoying. Then there's the songs that just take the instrumentals from rock songs ie Sing For The Moment, Come With Me, etc. that make you think that originality in rap is dead

in regards to rap/hip hop being the greatest genre of all time....why is it everytime someone talks crap on Rap/Hip Hop the same arguement is "well you are listening to all that mainstream garbage not enough underground"

if its so great it should be able to be good enough all around like other genres of music.

every genre has its crap artists....but no other genre has crap artists encompassing the entire mainstream

You need to stop listening to mainstream rap / hip-hop then the truth comes from the underground artists that can hardly cut a deal don't let that mainstream crap control your opinion, Lil Wayne 50 Cent etc dont even deserve to breath let alone sing. Cloud Strife your doing us real Rap / Hip-Hop fans no favors presenting yourself in that manner.

i 100% disagree with this,Rap and hip hop to me is one of the worst music genre's out there.

I've listened to rap and hip hop a lot of times and ive yet to relate to ANY rap or hip hop songs out there.Rock and metal on the other hand there is a lot of songs I can relate to.2/3rds sings about things people can relate to (which is a very good thing cause it makes people happy to know that they are not the only one to go through the same problems as they are) while rap and hip hop on the other hand sings about treating women with disrespect and "pimping" out your car and being in gangs and killing people to get so called "respect".Yeah to me thats far from the greating music ever...

as for the whole self righteous rock comment....

The comment you posted was that of a typical self Rap/Hip Hop fan that believe every genre outside it is somehow inferior it's my opinion that Rock/Metal is greatest genre ever why? because Rock/Metal makes music that people can relate to insted of singing about things they own which no body else has.

It has to be interesting and have limited self referencing, though... I can't get used to some gangbanger telling us about how rich he is while rapping over a 5 second loop of a royalty free sample. Hip Hop and Rap has a broader palate than most people realise, from my experience at least - Which is why it makes me so annoyed that the people in the limelight are some of the most soulless and detestable 'artists' in the world.

    Polyrhythmic rapping ftw!

Also, thanks for the comment zomBD

Thanks! Pink Floyd is my biggest influence. I could never find a band who wanted to do space rock though.

I really liked your music that Time intro was awesome!

Thanks, man! I saw that you had left a comment on my page almost a month after the fact. The default seems to be that you only see what you post on those pages, but I have since set it so I can see whatever anyone says. Thank you very much for your comments! Left For Dead is one of my favorites I've done, and I'm really happy someone else likes it!

My favorite ones on your page were Cicatriz and Acido Instrumental. I really like the guitar sound on the latter.

Man, you're bold! I'm way too self-conscious to show off the stuff I wrote when in High School. Well, that's not totally true. The aforementioned Planet Earth was written when I was in my teens, and I'm still happy with it...

It's great to see that there are so many people here who are so passionate about music.

    i agree with this.

as for the hate consuming comment

i do let hate consume me cause all of our music comes from things we hate.

alot of bands have a postive message ultimately and have a peaceful unity message behind the song and which i can totally respect but i find the only true thing for us and the only true energy we've been able to draw upon is the negative and the hate and the anger
