Anyone pick up Revelations 2? (*Fawkin' spoilers beware*)

That's exactly what I did. I couldn't sit through Ep 3 & 4 again. There was no build up to that choice, nor did that choice feel connected enough with the final boss fight for it to have the power it needed.

It's Weskers & Umbrella staff that are keen to build self destruct features into everything . Capcom wanted a landmark / pillar for Claire and Moira to head to, whilst give Barry something to descend into, and the result was 2 labs. I think it's stronger to have a single motif than to have both it and an inverse version of it.

She certainly didn't, otherwise she would have been able to save them. Also, I think Newsbot mentioned something about Moira being able to overcome fear in the good ending, hence her having a constantly red bracelet without any mutations happening. Shooting Neil then and there might have factored in her overcoming fear, like Natalia did. I think people are just pissed off since now they have to redo Episode 3 and 4 again. Just go watch the good ending on Youtube.

As for the tower thing, you can attempt to apply reason to it, but that doesn't make it any less stupid. And the extra lab section at the end of the catacombs is silly as well.

Moira only gets over her fear of guns if you kill Neil as her. If she didn't get over her fear of guns, then she couldn't have hunted for animals and protected herself from the BOWs roaming the island. In her extra episode, Evgeny (old guy) specifically tells her that he isn't going to babysit her and that she needs to hunt for food on her own. She couldn't have survived on the island for six months if she wasn't willing to use guns. Also, Natalia would have turned into Alex anyway, since Moira wouldn't have been able to shoot mutant Alex's hand.

why would you build one end of a lab at the top of a tower and the other end at the bottom of a deep pit below it?

The research facility at the top of the tower seems like it was built to research and fulfill Alex's goal of transferring herself into another body. It's supposed to initiate its 'confidentiality protocols' and self-destruct once the procedure is complete, as stated in the announcement after Alex kills herself. On the other hand, the one at the bottom of the facility seems like it was built to research Ouroborous, T-Phobos, and other bioweapons. She wanted to take over where Spencer and Albert left off, so obviously she needed to have a functional lab for Alex-Natalia to use upon waking up.

Yup. I wouldn't mind if this decision tied into Moira's final fate - such as having the confidence to wield a gun and save herself. I can't be arsed to play through again, I didn't enjoy the final chapter, so going to watch the final ending on YT.

As for the game, it did a huge amount to pay service to the whole series and it's fans, with extra attention on Barry & RE1. I can't be the only one amused by the amount of toilets in the underground area. Despite the obvious debt to The Last Of Us, the co-op was great for both pairs due to the different abilities of each character. And like The Last Of Us, it's great to play as an older, cynical male and not traditional cocky & (more) macho roles like Chris & Leon.

But it also suffered from clunky controls, terrible AI, unoriginal locations, some hilariously bad moments that undermine the gravitas it's trying to create (why would you build one end of a lab at the top of a tower and the other end at the bottom of a deep pit below it?) and a rather uninspiring & contrived skill tree (you must spend points for your partner to be able to shoot anyone???).

7/10. Some great highs, but too many lows and rough edges to be a classic. And frustratingly, many of the lows and rough edges could have been ironed out during development.

I prefer it to REV1 & RE5. And as for the future of the series. I wouldn't mind if this was the horror / action / set piece balance of the main titles, whilst the spin offs were traditional SH.

[EDIT] And yeah, the map was shit too.

[EDIT 2] Also, 4 of the 5 main characters were girls, and none were simple damsels in distress. Now that's progress in this industry!

I was wondering Remake MAP style.... Remake map is fantastic....I m unable to zoom map in revelations 2...Remake map is best for me in any survival horror game and silent hill map is 2nd best.

@Kei_M I picked it up in episode 3 but my inventory in episode 4 is not expanded....I think the reason might be when i picked the expansion bag i quit the game when game saved and started episode 4...I had it when i picked it up but when i started episode 4 my inventory was not expanded...which made the game hard

Did they ever cover what became of the virus in Claire? Is Chris the only one who hasn't been infected by a virus of some kind?

Moira simply states she never mutated and her bracelet never changed color. I've read theories that it's meant to symbolize that she's another capable host for Alex, but I dunno the details really yet. Doing my plathrough. Plan to pay a little more attention and unlock all the secret files. I LOVED the email from Jill to Barry. LOVED. LOVED.

I have lost expansion bag for Baary which i picked up in episode 3....It is not in the gimmick box anymore...
whenever i open the box i only find topaz....what should i do?

I think it's because it's a permanent upgrade. Your new games will have it and such so you don't need it again, it's been replaced with topaz so you still get a perk

She didn't really need to inject herself with the virus though, did she? After all, the T-Phobos was just used to find a suitable vessel. She thought that she could never feel fear, so she injected herself with the virus. Unfortunately, she did feel fear the moment she commited suicide. Her arrogance ended up punishing her, and literally turned her into an ugly monster, just like in Kafka's story.

Also, Natalia was born in 2002. If we get RE7 next year, she'd be 14-15 by then. It'd be funny if we ended up getting a teenage villain. Puberty for Alex all over again.

Well I got to say the ending was pretty interesting & somewhat satisfying especially with the character build up, as SUPER cheasy as it was at itmes.

Liked how Alex Wesker couldn't get the death she wanted to due to the T-Phobos (+ Progenitor virus?) preventing from letting her stay dead as she succumbed to 'Fear/Anxiety' as she was being embraced by 'Death'...her Bracelet literary starts turning Red after she dies...I think...as in she was subconsciously succumbing to fear.

Fits the general theme of 'Fear = Death & Death = Fear'...they're one and the same in this analogy.

Two flaws in Alex's plan...with the obvious mentally damaged after effects of the virus state of course...

1. she was not supposed to come back alive mutated, at least her original body & consciousness.

2. She had very little faith on Natalya's 'eventual' change...she thought the experiment failed and almost foiled her own plan doing so, when trying to kill what she thought was a 'failure'.

In the end, it all worked out in her favor...

So the real/original Alex is dead, but she happened to leave a 'Legacy'...her planted persona/memories into Natalya with the seemingly 100% certainty that she WILL take over the poor child...a la Revolver Ocelot doning the Liquid Snake persona through hypnosis, drugs, psychotherapy and nanomachines...but in Alex's & Natalya's case we're led to believe it was more elaborate, yet unexplained procedure that involved the T-Phobos virus.

Not bad, although...I don't see Alex/Natalya being further involved into the current immediate timeline...maybe she'll be left for a time-skip when Natalya grows into an adult...unless they just say fuck it! We're going to take down child-form Possessed Natalya in RE7/Rev3/RE8!

Well...Alex is like the only somewhat established antagonist we have left...so if she's NOT involved in the next title, then what's next in RE7...another one-time villain a la Simmons & Sadler?

Revelations 2 for being a budget (and somewhat 'probably' rushed & relatively short) title was pretty enjoyable as a non-numbered title...I'm pretty pleased to be honest (even with all the flaws) and the price of admission wasn't bad at all!

Alex was an awesome villain! Though, I feel like I would have liked a little more of an IMPACT when Claire and Moira finally found her. We never really got a good look of her face, no cut scene or anything and the forcefield thing obscured her. I wanted to hear Claire's reaction to finding out she's related to Wesker! I hope Natalia's final words in the ending lead toward her return in the near future. I can see Barry being murdered by her and Chris, Jill, and Claire jumping in for revenge. Which would crush me considering how endearing he was in this game!! Can you believe we can't complain about his lack of appearances anymore

Claire's scenario was kind of a throw away but the ending was pretty good. 'James Bakers' performance when Moira got crushed and she didn't want to leave her behind was really well done. I was happy to see her intertwined with Barry's scenario's ending so heavily because I imagined it being the Barry show for the ending. In regards to the actor replacement, while I enjoyed the performance from Claire's new voice actress I feel like the intention was too strongly aimed at 'strengthening her' and growing her up and I feel like in the process a certain spark was lost and I wonder if even Alyson could have made her feel 'right'. I'm replaying in her 'classic' outfit. I'm hoping seeing her like that will make me 'feel her' more.

Barry's was great as always. The mansion was sufficiently creepy and when that one monster fell out of the vents after getting one of the keycards? emblem key? scared me so fucking much I made strange sounds. While I did find Alex' transformation scary, I did notice the similarities between the Japanese-esque spirit from Evil Within. Switching between Claire and Barry was a really nice touch to tie the scenarios together and make both involved with the fight. Barry's one liners were great as always especially when he said "I'll always need you, but for now..." I knew exactly what he was gonna say, "I have this."

Nice satisfying ending. I wouldn't be surprised if a season 2 propped up though.

Despite my own personal issues with what they did with Claire, I think they did a good job of sticking her a little more deeply into the mythology and helping her break out of the role of 'Chris' sister'. There's definitely better potential for her to be used in the future and I really appreciated the greater sense of tying it into the series. 5 and 6's plots were intertwined within the narrative and I felt it was in an organic way. I believe the president from Damnation was mentioned on the radio too.
