There's also some 3.5 material in this interview that should probably be highlighted in the news post:

At that point in the character development, the virus had infected him. There wasn’t much of a story yet, so the focus became about what would happen to Leon if he started mutating. How would this affect his mind, his body, and how he could overcome what was taking him over. And if it did overtake him, then how would they create missions around that?

      • An article came out today at Gamasutra where Jun Takeuchi talks about how Capcom handles the development process of their current games for a worldwide market (he talks about Resident Evil 5)

Capcom's Takeuchi On 'Cheap, Fast And Tasty' Approach

        excerpt:

Takeuchi and two other production managers came up with a three-part strategy during a dinner conversation: "Cheap, fast and tasty. That probably sounds like a familiar catch phrase from a certain fast food restaurant (in Japan)."

"Cheap" refers to cost efficiency, he explained. "In the past, we would have different teams create their own game engine for similar types of games. There was Resident Evil and Onimusha, both of which were action games but the engines were different. Why not use the same game engine?"

The solution is the MT Framework, Capcom's latest game engine...

        • Two "new" Bio releases from Capcom Japan this month!
(well, three actually, with RE5 PC.)

CV Complete + Bio 4 value pack with soundtrack (30+ songs)
          http://www.e-capcom.com/ec/srDispPro...spProductList/
Pretty nice package, though not extremely cheap at 3990 yen (about $40). Released same day as RE5 PC, Sept. 17th.

          Capcom Music Collection Vol 0
          http://www.e-capcom.com/music/cmc/
17 tracks, one from RE2. Pretty cheap, only 1050 yen (about $10).

          Preordered!

                    • Things are busy on the Resident Evil front so i don't know if this'll be necessary for the front page, but Silent Hill has just gone live on the PS3 store in the US.

                        • Capcom celebrates RE5 on PC on Facebook

Noticed this RE5-related news bit dated September 14th, 2009 on a few sites.

Capcom celebrates Resident Evil 5 PC with Facebook app

                          Excerpt:

Tuesday, September 15, marks the arrival of Resident Evil 5 on PC in North America. As such, Capcom is commemorating the game's PC launch with a Facebook app, of all things. It's actually pretty amusing, too.

The Majini Makeover application allows users to modify photos into Resident Evil 5 Majini by adding wounds, stitches, Uroboros-ish worms, and more nasty goodness. Well, Capcom always did have a sense of humor. You can use photos taken from a personal or friends' public gallery and show off your Maijini creations.

Additionally, anyone who does post their altered photos in a public Facebook gallery will be entered to win a new desktop PC, Resident Evil collectibles, copies of RE5, or one of five Intel Core i7 processors -- at least we assume you can only win one. Pretty good deal all the same.
