I still really want this, but I don't want to spend too much money on it. One of my friends was lucky enough to actually buy it at gamestop a few years back. I would of but I wasn't even aware that they were selling them at gamestop back then.

Ahaha, I thought so. I never looked up anything about it when I got mine years ago. I bought mine fairly cheap, thus I never felt like I really wasted my money once I started to suspect it was a bootleg. I'm glad I have the official versions, though.

I suppose the bootleg is a strange little collectible. I don't think I'll ever get rid of mine.

Thanks for telling me, btw! Mystery solved many years later for me.

EDIT: Holy crap. I just looked through the book again, and I (finally) noticed the pictures from Survivhor. Wow... I can't believe that.

Holy crap...I'm pretty sure I checked a few weeks ago and they still have abunch in stock at a local book store for like 20 bucks a pop *runs to the store and buys 10 copies*. I love the book, but damn it's got more typos's than any other book I've ever read, literally.

It may have ton of typos but its amazing too see all the concept art for some of the games and with all the info in the book i can use most images if i ever decide too model any monsters in maya plus it adds too my ever expanding resident evil collection i've accumilated over the years so i will never sell my copy no matter how much in value it goes up xD

They usually go for about £80, sometimes even more. When I looked into getting a brand new copy (I have a copy but my dad spilt tea on it - thanks), they were way overpriced. I got mine in the £30 region too.

Really they're going for those kinda of prices. I remember seeing a ton of them in gamestop not even knowing what it was and then reading it in the store for a half hour. I did get it on amazon a few years back and now I wish I bought an extra one.

If it's worth that much now, how much would it be worth in say 10 more years. Keep it man, I paid bout £30 when I bought it which was bout two years ago.

I listed mine on Ebay and it ended up going for $80. I'm not going to regret selling it because it was chock full of typos and a lot of misinformation. The only thing I liked about it was the art, but meh, I can find all that online.

Amazon sellers always list stuff at retarded prices. You'll see them for like $40 on ebay now. Just a concequence of them printing them in a low number (relatively) and RE4 and the movies bringing in a lot of new fans.

That Archives (called Decades IIRC) is an HK knock off xdeadpan. We have a new post about it. They even ripped off Survivhor images, lol.

^Errr... Apparently, on Amazon, some are being sold in "new" condition for $230. What the hell. Personally, I've never seen them go up that high on eBay, but there's one on there now that's close to $40.

Fo realz. I'm glad I bought Archives when it came out, both the English release and the Japanese. Plus, that crappy re-release with all the RE4 stuff, which I'm still not sure is official or a bootleg, since the quality seems so... off.

How much does it go for on eBay? (just a sketchy estimation will do)

It was pretty difficult for me to get the book because I do not live in USA. As a collector I can tell that you will surely regret it after selling it

    Resident Evil Archives book

Any idea why this is going for insane amounts of money on eBay? I have a copy I bought off amazon years ago for RRP and after seeing what it goes for on eBay I'm tempted to list it.
Working...
