In RE5, they should have a Mercenaries style mini-game, but with way more playable characters. And it should be online multiplayer. Imagine Wesker vs Sherry vs Ada vs Leon vs Krauser vs Jill vs Rebecca vs Chris vs 37 Zombies vs 29 Ganados vs Saddler vs Annete vs Hunk vs....uh Ashley! Yeah! 47 People in a whoever-kills-ashley-most-times-in-ten-minutes wins melee!

Assuming said girl is indeed Sherry, Capcom could have Chris kill Wesker in RE5 (because, really, I think that honor belongs to Chris and only Chris), but then have Sherry replace Wesker as the new villain. It would be the perfect lead-in to RE6 and the long-awaited return of Claire.

Its good they're finally tying up this little plot hole. I do wonder about Steve though. Everyone Claire seems to pick up gets lost in a plot hole.

wait a second... If Wesker has The T-V virus and sherry who is suspended in a tank... then maybe Sherry is infected with it and will turn into the new Alexia Ashford

man they should have a re where all the original stars members meet up with claire and leon and sherry and steve and throw billy in the mix, kill wesker off and knock down umbrella and hcf or whatever.. but then RE would be over

To be honest, that would be the campest storyline ever.
LETS GO GET UMBRELLA BUDDIES!!!! :p

Billy has no reason to get involved, his arc pretty much ended after RE0.
Same for Leon, which is a shame as he was probably my favorite character from the series, he's now bodyguard to the presidents family.

The only technically feasable characters to make it into RE5 besides Chris would be Claire, Jill, Barry *but he'd be 50-60ish by now*, with Claire and Chris in the story Steve and Wesker would serve as good character Dynamics, along with Sherry.
I'd prefer RE5 to follow the route RE4 did, Chris investigating the new epidemic or whatever in the story, while Flashbacks towards Umbrellas downfall would be played out moving towards the uncovering the future of umbrella with Wesker/Spencer etc.

Well you're right and wrong there BLSR1. In the CV:X ending Wesker mentions he has Steve and that he may be brought back to life as he was. So, anything could happen really. As irritating as he was, i would like to know what happened, since he is pretty much the only link to the TVeronica-Virus

I never saw THAT part of the ending
but Wesker probably whouldn't wast his time bringing an enemy back to life especially one that even though he was a monster still saved Clair

Steve is dead and I'm happy leaving it like that

Wesker got the Virus from his corpse and that was Steve's purpose

The virus would bring him back, Wesker wouldn't have control. He'd probably just shove him in a tube, like Sherry (who, as far as we know, wasn't infected with anything) or kill him again. Either way, it's still a plot hole that needs filling.

None of the viruses revive people. Also, it is contestable that Sherry herself has some sort of genetic alteration (also most likely caused by a viral vector given the topic of RE research) which could be the cause of tubing her. And as we all know, a tube full of strange liquid in a game can mean anything.

takes control, mutates, and reanimates bodies

Reanimation = Reviving doesnt it? Direct injection leads to mutation, Birkin, Steve and Wesker are examples (yes Wesker is a mutation). Exposure leads to death then reanimation.
