Two things.
Firstly... geez, good on him for getting it this way. I can only imagine if the social media outing/pressure existed back in 2000... we would have ended up with Scott and Cameron's original actual Alien sequels they planned out rather than two shitty AVP films and the eventual idea of the Prometheus films.
Secondly, Fox better not fuck this up by interfering too much again. But the chances of that not happening are low as always.
I wish him good luck. Get Weaver and Biehn on board first. Everything else will follow.

Those concept arts will probably have nothing to do with the actual movie since it's bound to be set between Prometheus 2 and original Alien. AT least that's what IGN is reporting. After all the only way to make another Alien movie with Weaver and Biehn is to retcon Alien 3 and Resurrection and I don't believe that's ever gonna happen.Spoiler:

As much as I love Biehn, I'm willing to bet that image is just a place-holder."I've got 100 cows."

Artworks are always cool, but lets just hope there is no stupid crush-the-hot-chick scene.

Colonial Marines is redundant anyway because Ripley still dies at the end, unless they've cloned Hicks 200 years in the future which would be beyond stupid.

Officially, everything is canon, Alien and Pred universe is the same, all movies, expanded universe including novels and games. It gets claimed with pretty much everything they put out. I kow it makes no sense and not even fan theory can explain it, but is true.Last edited by Dracarys; 02-24-2015, 09:47 AM.Beanovsky Durst - "They are not pervs. They are japanese."

Henriksen in Alien 3 is just Michael Bishop. He ain't a Weyland.
Officially, everything isn't canon. Tim Lebbon confirmed this when Fox sent him a 'canon bible' as a mandate when he wrote his Out of the Shadows novel last year. The AVP films have been binned, although interestingly, Predator, Predator 2 and Predators are still counted as being in the universe, probably because they do not crossover and cause no issues. I'm sure we've talked about this in the past but Prometheus also makes the AVP films obsolete anyway.
The official canon according to 20th Century Fox is:
Prometheus ---> Prometheus 2 ---> Alien ---> Alien Isolation ---> Alien: Out of the Shadows ---> Alien: River of Pain ---> Aliens ---> Fire and Stone ---> Alien 3 ---> Alien Resurrection ---> Alien: Sea of Sorrows. Then add wherever Blomkamp's new Alien fits.
A new book entitled 'The Weyland Yutani Report' by SD Perry is due out soon and elaborates on this further. I've been privileged to have a peek at a review copy which includes the official Alien timeline. All of the above barring Prometheus 2 and Alien 5 are referred to on it, the AVP films are nowhere to be seen.
The Alien vs. Predator aspect is being rebooted next year in the form of a new trilogy of novels entitled 'The Rage War' with chronologically a standalone Predator novel, then alien, then AVP.
AVP and Requiem officially and thankfully no longer have any relevance. Fox have also gone extremely quiet on Colonial Marines.Last edited by TheBatMan; 02-24-2015, 11:47 AM."I've got 100 cows."
