  • Famitsu Umbrella Chronicle Scans

    CVXFreak has once again delivered some shots of the new Famitsu far ahead of the official release date (Thank you porno shops in Japan who don't care about release dates!) The latest batch centers around a Richard and Rebecca scenario.

    The scans show Rebbecca making her way to the mansions entrance through the forest surrounding it while encountering numerous enemies. It appears that Yawn will play a prominent role in the scenario, with it following you around. Ultimately, she links up with Richard and we will probably find out how Richard was wounded as he was in Resident Evil 1.

      I wonder RE3 part of the game will also have any additional scenerios (for example Nicholai's mission).

      It seems Capcom really is trying to patch all plot holes with this one.

          Well the large letters in red mean "secret scenario? Rebecca"

          And the results screen for the level says "Racoon Forest"

          But you can probably guess that anyway

          Edit: oh, and anyone notice the files are ordered by date? I can sort of make out "July 23rd 1998"

                Looks like they really are trying to connect the dots. Pity it's being wasted as an FPS game. I'd prefer it if UC was just "Resident Evil: Arcade" and the canon version was a game that had the same shit, only without the FPS gameplay and instead had the REmake or RE4 gameplay.

                Oh well.

                Also, is it just me, or do the FMV's look really, really horrible? Character model wise? They just look so...fucked up. I can't even think of a word to describe them >_>

                  The FMV's look pretty high budget to me. They are at least rendered well.

                  Though I haven't seen any of the new videos if thats what your talking about.

                    Yeah, i'm talking about some of the scenes in the new trailers. I saw nothing wrong with the ones included in the older trailers (such as the scene where it shows the tyrant, that was pretty sweet) but everything else from then on just looks like they put the action figures in the scenes instead. Animation wise aswell.

                            All characters look (and probably are) as if they were taken straight from in-game cut-scenes (hi-poly models from cut-scenes), only they are better shaded and have self-shading. This is an effect one can achieve by importing, for example, RE4 characters to 3DSM and rendering them there with some lighting that casts shadow.

                            That's why you can still see angular edges on characters and low res textures.
