You know, I really didn't think it was possible to mod the pre-rendered Resident Evils.

How?, I know RE1 uses the .TMD format and RE2 uses the .PLD format but how can you edit them what software do you need?

it should be fairly easy to mod with the progress of tech.

Well, every time I search on Google for a way to mod the original PC Resi Evils, it always comes up with cracks'n'hacks sites, porn sites (WTF?! But it's true), and RE4 modding things. Any tips?

dont use google?

check FPS bannana and MODDB and ask around.

Google is more quicker than searching on individual sites. That's why I use it. I don't spend my life in front of a PC.

Just a little helper if you plan to mod re2 on the pc all files are interchangeable apart from sherry's it's kinda strange Chris has both a Extreme Battle Mode model & in-game model when he's only available in Extreme Battle Mode.

There used to be a website called the Safehouse run by a few people in the old Evil-Online/Dark Legacy communities which grouped modifications for the PC and looked into what could be done. A couple of them still occasionally appear at Dan Birlew's forums.

People were also trying to work out if they could modify the engine and create their own RE games based off the system structure. Some of the work in those videos, including the Requiem of Spies mod out there, also come from that work.

It's great to see Dominion is still working on his modification too. A couple of years ago he was planning on just an alternative RE2 scenario with Elza Walker which was that Last Human Front work... But the work he's done since looks really good.

You can play as Sherry in the main game on the N64 version using the code 800E8CB9 000F it doesn't have extreme battle though also note Sherry starts off with no-weapons but you can use any you pickup.
