    Thanks for that info MarkGrass, i think its pretty useful

    @Kexstah

    very interesting, i will add that itemslot and itembox savegame-hacking with a hex-editor to my documentation soon.

    It would be even more interesting to know how to hack the items you have from the beginning of the game. For example, you start with a shotgun instead of a beretta with Jill.
    I think we would have to hex-edit the game's exe exe for that, but i don't know how to find the line in which we would have to do changes.

    Yeah but couldn't you search for the following values it should narrow it down a bit, process of elimination.
    020F = Beretta w/ 15 (Jill only)
    0100 = Combat Knife
    4101 = 1 First Aid Spray

    Hmm i don't have savegames from that points of the game.
    If we would now the room-numbers and how to change them in the savegames..

    "Edit the .tmd" do you mean that you edited he models in them?
    Ok i will try if i can get the starting equipment changed.

    Yes and if i can find out how to change the header of the over files that contain .tmd + .tim files and then revert them header back to what it was originally I can edit them too.

    Um..I'm trying to Mod RE4 PC,(only just got it) and I extracted all the DAT files into folders but now the game wont run. Does anyone know why this is happening?

    You didn't overwrite any files did you? you could try moving the folders that you extracted the DAT files into to another location other than the games dictionary like your Desktop or My Documents.

    Will it actually still call from those folders if they arent in the game directory?
    I think I'm going to reinstall and start over, it's faster than recompressing all the folders.

    It shouldn't call from them at all really as there completely unrelated to the game as you made them, unless it does a checksum of the full installed game dictionary folder and so won't load when you have them in the games dictionary.

    Ok, I have reinstalled it but it kept the decompressed folders that I made. I also checked it and it plays the game fine now, but both styles of folder are in the install directory. Which ones take priority, DAT or normal Folders? Or am I still doing this wrong?

    ps. Sorry for all the questions I've never done anything like this before.

    I've never modded RE4 as I don't have the game but after reading this http://z6.invisionfree.com/Resident_...owtopic=4&st=0 my understanding is once you've extracted the .DAT files and created the folders with same name you delete the .DAT files.

    Another stupid question, I tried to do the first boulder dodge like a dozen times and hit it most of the time but still failed. Then I read the manual and found out I need to use the numerical keypad, but Im on a laptop and it doesnt have one. I think I've heard there is a way to make it read the regualar numbers as the pad. Does anyone here know how?

    Wouldn't the onscreen keyboard work? Have RE in windowed mode and use the numerical pad or whatever on the onscreen keyboard? I wish I had RE for PC, then I could try it, but I dont have it so meh. This is just a suggestion.

    * I call this code "Nightmare Mode" because no matter how many times you kill a zombie, dog, etc. you can leave the room, come right back and the enemy will "respawn" as if you never killed it in the first place. Just for fun, try beating the game with this code on and no others! + This code unlocks ALL doors, not just the Mansion doors, however the electronic door on the 2F West Wing is remains locked...atleast for now. Below is a picture from a cut scene that I have never seen. With the in development "All Events Done" code, I was wondering around when I reached the top of the stairs on the West 2F wing, when all of a sudden Rebecca screamed, and Chris turned around back torwards the stairs. Well I went back down, and up under the stairs in the corner was Rebecca with her head cut off! I pressed X at her body, then she suddenly got up and started to have a conversation with Chris! Chris said something like " We need to get a search party to get out of here.Can you proceed with your own judgement?", and she replied yes. Then all of the sudden Chris' head was cut off by a Hunter........weird. Am I the only one who has never heard of or seen this cutscene? Anyways, "All Events Done" will be done sooner than later.

    # Right from the begining Hunters are wandering the Mansion. % This code eliminates the cutscenes/convos with Wesker and Chris/Barry at the begining of the game. * Version 1 has enemies wandering around, Version 2 does not have any enemies. BOW: Nightmare mode is a code I created for the GameShark that "respawns" enemies after you kill them, and "All Events Done" is another cheat I created to have exactly just that; All events done. xfactor: LOL, being a stoner and all, and seeing something very random like that made me bust out laughing.....weird thing was the whole time they were takling I could hear a Hunter in the background screaming and jumping, but it couldn't be seen until the words "YOU DIED" were about to flashed the screen. However, I tried it again with this new "All Events Done" code and it froze the second the convo was over....probably a certain event must/must not occur for it to work...?? Side note: "All Events Done" for BH 15Min Preview is useless....the electronic door is still locked and you can't enter Helmet Key doors.... * promises to work extra hard on "Walk Through Walls" *
