I wish the writing would have been more concise, because the direction was excellent. I've heard quite a bit that the writer didn't know what he was doing and Gans was a huge fan of the games.

Ha! awesome, I have a grandma like that too, my grandma is into the same stuff i'm into. I could talk for hours to her about RE, or Silent Hill or about Sci-Fi films and such. You learn so much from people who are older than you.

I just watched Jurassic Park again and i think the scene where the T-Rex is attacking the two kids while there stuck in the car is possibly one of the most epic brilliant moments in cinema history. God i love that film.

Recently watched Repo! The Genetic Opera again. I don't know what it is about that movie, but I really adore it.

Especially the Largos. They're so amusing xD

Watched Alien last night. I don't think I've ever seen a more perfect film, at least in the Sci-Fi/Horror genre. The level of suspence throughout the film is unbelievable, the entire sequence where Dallas is in the shafts is just fantastic and when the Alien does appear there's no big build-up, it's just there. It's refreshing.

And the Xenomorph itself is just beautiful. Which may sound wierd, but it just looks fantastic.

One could only wish that Paul Anderson were as good.

Was Angels and Demons better or worse than the DaVinci code?

I read a review and saw that Angels and Demons got like a 3/10, and also that it's better than the Da Vinci Code. And yet they both are making billions of dollars and are some of the most successful films ever. I don't get it.

Fuck I hate Ron Howard. Worst Director Ever.

I still hate him and stand my what i said.

Besides, Frost/Nixon is based of real life events, therefore Howard had to use minimal creativity to make it. Apollo 13 and Beautiful mind are the same as they were based of real life events too. I don't like him because he doesn't use any creativity at all to make his movies, basically his movies plots are pre made for him, and the majority of his films are crap anyway.

Cocoon looks ok but it would have been even better had Robert Zemeckis directed it. Another Director i love, he made Back to the Future and Romancing the Stone and a few other great films that involved being creative and not stealing your ideas from real life events or books continuously and never making anything original.

The best films of all time are based on books and Howard is a director not a writer.

No, not all of them, Star Wars is not based on a book, Terminator is not based on a book, Pirates of the Caribbean is not based on a book, Alien is not based on a book, Back to the Future is not based on a book.

Jurassic Park and Lord of the Rings are based on books but they are significantly different from there source material in some parts.

Writer/Directors and better than average directors.

From these only Star Wars can be considered as one of the best films ever but it's a remake, sort of.

Hitchcock, Coppola and Kubrick did nothing but adaptations they never wrote an original screenplay and Hitchock was never a writer himself he was only a director. So according to your standards these directors suck right...
