Recently Seen Films

I just saw Dario Argento's thriller Deep Red. This is bar none one of my favorites in the genre, I must've seen it 10 or so times. It's directed stylishly and executed well. You could see the influence of it on movies such as Halloween, Friday the 13th, Saw, etc. I just noticed the Spoiler:

I think he meant his first movie as a lead actor.

I like Shia a lot, hes got talent and spark and its good to see him on screen. His roles in "I, Robot", "Disturbia", "Transformers" and especially "Eagle Eye" have been excellent and refreshing whereas I didnt see him fit the newest Indiana Jones at all, but thats probably because the whole movie blew.

Yeah I meant first lead role.

Ive never really had a problem with him either. Ive just noticed he tends to play a similar character in each film but it doesn't bother me much.

I had no problem with Indy 4. I don't get the hate for it.

Interesting movie...I mean, the parts I was awake for were interesting. Man, was this film BORING. It was slow, convoluted, boring and lllooooonnnnggg. At the same time...it was a good film. Just, not something I could watch often.

Amen. What a disappointment. But nowhere near of a disappointment as when I went to a midnight screening of Phantom Menace. That film ruined a franchise for me.

As for Indy 4: The whole refrigerator scene, not to mention "Mutt" (hands down the worst addition to the franchise...where's Short Round when you need him to beat the shit out Shia LeDouchenozzle?), and the swinging on the vines with the marsupials. Ugh. Pure garbage.

I'm just curious, have you read the graphic novel too? o.o It's worth picking up. Despite the movie being near exact to it, I would understand why people were confused or bored. D=

There was nothing in the film I hated. It succeded in entertaining me. I enjoyed it. I found the plot interesting. Nothing angered me in it. I don't see why it gets so much hate.

Ugh, Phantom Menace did more good than bad. It's the worst in the series yes, but the things that came out of it in the EU are fucking brilliant.

I don't have a problem with Shia, Mutt never bothered me. The refrigerator Scene was interesting. Though the vine swinging was stupid I agree there.

I still don't see why it is so much worse that anything else released now.

People just hype things way to much.

No, but I want to pick it up now. I tend to see movies before I read their novel counterparts, because the books tend to be a lot better most of the time. This way, I'm not disappointed when seeing the film, and I can enjoy the novel for what it is.

But yeah, definately pick it up, as it has details the movie simply /couldn't/ capture with any amount of time probably. Inbetween chapters. A lot of snippits out of books the characters wrote, letters to one another, interviews, files, all side details that wrap things together.

Far worse than Transformers 2, the whole movie is very cheesy, bad acting, and the action scenes really aren't that great. I found it to be pretty boring.

Saw the 20 min preview of Avatar and it was AWESOME. Cameron is raising the bar.

I also saw Inglourious Basterds. The best Tarantino flick since Jackie Brown and Pulp Fiction, and watch out for Christopher Walsh(my avatar), he steals the show.

Saw G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra a few hours ago and liked movie. I guess I'm did expect it to be anything special and enjoyed it for what it was.

Well I did say it was my opinion. Not trying to force others to like it too.


I just watched The Notebook. It was on TV last night, I missed the beginning half an hour so I'm going to have to rent it and see it again. But the film was absolutely brilliant. It was so romantic and I really felt for both characters. it certainly pulls on your heartstrings and the ending is fantastic.

Even if your not a fan of romantic films I recommend you see this. It's a very well told Love story of two teenagers living in the 1940's, and it follows their life and their troubles, and well I wont spoil it. But it makes you feel so warm and happy in parts, but so sad and lonely in others. The first love scene is so spectacularly innocent and well done that it just sucks you in and you feel like your their in the room with them lol, feeling what they feel.

10/10.

The amount of times it has been put into our DVD player and prevented me from watching some good ole television, or just the amount of times it has been put in alone.

I just got really annoyed with that. I even watched parts of the film.

Needless to say, I'm not a big fan of romances at all. And I don't think that it will matter with The Notebook...ugh.

Lol, I find it funny that the director of The Notebook, Nick Cassavetes, is the son of the indie filmmaker John Cassavetes. Two distinct styles and obviously one more mainstream than the other.
