Collector was a rewatch, not a bad movie IMO.. love the bit when the couple come home and he's just watching them before f***ing them up, hopefully the sequel comes out soon!
What were your thoughts on Bruiser? I thought it was a really different take on a revenge tale. As Romero get's older his work seems to feel more...out of place. Honestly, I think he peaked with Day of the Dead.

I just watched Sucker Punch. It was alright to say the least. Given the pedigree, I was expecting much worse. Snyder films for the most part always leave me feeling cold.

Sucker Punch looked like a boring stylized jail bait version of 'One Flew Over the CooKoo's nest' to me.

I think Snyder tried to hard to tell a "deep" story, and that kind of fell flat.

Not quite the same story as One Flew Over, but shockingly close.

As I said, Snyder's style isn't for me, I really dislike the slow mo all the time. But I came into this looking low, and it hit as a competent film.

At least it wasn't 300, where everyone I knew built it up to epic proportions. I remember leaving the theater with my friends and they where gushing about how great it was. All I said was "That movie fucking sucked....and I gave up Grindhouse for that horse shit?!"

It was a quite car ride. And everytime some one asks me if they should see it I go on a rant about how they shouldn't.

300 had its own charm to it, which helped that Snyder didn't write the script, but it wasn't an amazing film either.

Here is my impersonation of Zack Snyder introducing himself:

Heeeeeeellllloooooooooooooo Eeeeeeevvvveeeerrrryooooonnnne, Mmmmmmmy nnnnnnaaaaaaame iiiiiiiis Zzzzzzaaaaaaaaack. Iiiiiiiiiiiiiii diiiiiiiiiiiirrrrrrrreeeeeeeeecccccccctt mmmmmooooovvvvviiieeeesssss.

...cause you know...he does slow motion all the-I'll just stop here.

Bruiser, hmm, I think the concept had potential, I do like that sort of film where someone just goes over the edge... but would much rather watch something like Falling Down or Taxi Driver, which have some style/thought behind them.

Does remind me of an interesting discussion on imdb on if D-Fens is a republican or liberal, to which someone replied liberal "as he took the gang's guns"

Watching Toy Story 3. The ending is a real tear-jerker.

Finally saw Sherlock Holmes...I see the hype. The outfits, the snark, the slightly Steampunk kick to it, the accents, the bromance. It was VERY cool.

Captain America was a damn fine film. Even had a surprise bit of gore to it in one sequence at the end...course being a PG-13 film it was very brief but surprising that they did it.

I seemed to be the only one who briefly gasped at that scene. I'd assume they would have just shot just out of view but wow, they really showed the whole deal.

Watched SAW: The Final Chapter on Epix last night. Decent flick and a fairly satsifying conclusion to the overly long series. A little too much filler for my tastes, though. 7/10.

    The Skeptic

Not too bad actually, interesting take on a ghost horror movie.. The doll scene was awesome.. Not enough decent killer doll movies out there.. There's Chucky, Dead Silence, any others? Not including the old, low budget ones that looked the business 20 years ago but are really shitty now..

Saw Paranormal Activity 2 last night (never seen the first one) and wondered what all the hype was about. It was an hour and a half borefest and the scariest part is when the husband programs the pool cleaner to jump out of the water. Certainly not the horror movie it's made out to be and the "scariest movie since the exorcist" they claimed the first to be can only be a farce.

Avatar? A ten out of ten?

    Are you serious?

I thought it was pro-environmentalist hogwash, throughout the entire film I was rooting for the humans.

    I'm not alone. 8D

It was Pocahontas with blue people it really is true. And I'm sick of trying to guilt human beings as 'teh ultimate evulz' in films.

it had nothing to do with pocahontas or dancing with wolves just because someone is against humanitys ways of doing things in this case destroying everything if i was jake i had done the same thing.
10/10 it deserves every single points there is... its a masterpiece!

    I'm sorry. You're terribly wrong.

-White mangoes into a tribe of people native to him nd learns their ways
    -WAS rejected at first
-Eventually is better at their culture than even they are
    -Secondary jealous love interest
-The other side are presented as stereotypical evil white men.

This is lifted EXACTLY from Dances with Wolves and Disney's Pocahontas. You can like it all you want, but it's NOT original. It's by no means a storytelling masterpiece and if anything, only visually interesting if that. I was quite let down by Pandora myself. Also, Colonel Quaritch is a beast and I was rooting for him all along. When you'e got a race that is supposedly and annoyingly perfect in every way and THEIR xenophobia is ignored since they're the heroes...um, no. Not rooting for them.
