I saw New Moon last night and.....dammit I loved every second of it. It was fantastic. The pacing issues that the first film had were gone and the direction was just a definite improvement.

I would've rather seen it in a cinema that wasn't full of giggles when Jacob took his shirt off though.

Kinda sounds like a chubby girl porn.

I am now disturbed by how many nasty thing went through my head.

Like the tag line of the movie would be like "200 pounds of beautiful women doing things you wont see anywhere else!"

...that tag line is wrong. BBW sites are apparently very popular. Believe me, I get sent enough of this crap to know all about various fetish pornography. The worrying part is it's about half sent by friends and half by people who don't like me.

Watched the Star Trek remake movie last night. It was interesting. Especially since it's an alternative reality timeline that so closely echoes the real timeline. Should be quite interesting to see the next one. Maybe they'll let a red shirt die in a smart way this time, instead of being too dumb to open a parachute.

I just watched the new Friday the 13th last night. Probably the funniest remake I've seen yet. I was laughing all night at the movies expense....and I called the "last girl" within five minutes.

    Yes she is.

This movie almost seems like a Slasher 101 class project. Everything was on cue and played very safely, nothing very interesting or new.

But I am very curious about the new Halloween, Fangoria makes it sound very good.

Fangoria makes every slasher movie sound good because that's what they enjoy.

Yeah I've never associated good with Fango. There are great sites on the web (deadpit, shock 'till you drop, etc).

I agree about Friday the 13th's mediocrity. When it came out I probably saw it with rose-tinted glasses because it didn't "hurt" like Rob Zombie's Halloween did. Nonetheless it doesn't do anything. HOWEVER, there were a couple of film references I enjoyed and I was surprised to see.

Halloween II is a jumbled mess from what I've seen (perhaps the first 40 minutes, didn't want to see any more). Zombie tries to move it into more surreal territory and he falls flat on his face.

I saw the Fourth Kind a few weeks ago and thought that it was a horrible movie. I guess I expected to much from it and sorry that I went to see it.

The Taking of Pelham 123 remake with Denzel and Travolta. Cool movie, both leads played their parts well, although I've come to expect more from Denzel's movies. Still a good movie overall, but nothing really special. I'd give it a 7/10.

    The Informers.

I recommend this if you're a Bret Easton Ellis fan.

I saw Paranormal Activity during the weekend (SPOILERS IN THIS POST). It was pretty rubbish until the last couple of nights during which shit gets creepy lol. It wasnt terrifying though. To be honest i think i was the only person in the cinema who was laughing at every one screaming haha. I will admit that the scene where she gets dragged out scared me a bit, possibly because i had a nightmare about the very same thing happening to me lol. I also found that the ending was very good and pretty scary, it really had me on the edge of my seat! over all id say that while its the scariest horror film ive seen in years it wasn't quite as terrifying as i was lead to believe.

EDIT - i must say that the actor who played the ghost expert was terrible! the worst acting ive seen in a cinema release for quite some time

Sounds like a shame...but I'll see it anyways.

Just bought Terminator Salvation, and I got to say, I really liked it. It's a new style of terminator, and a fresh take on the series (it is post judgement day after all, something I've wanted to see since the first). Although I have to say I still prefer Terminator, and The Sarah Conner Chronicles to it. But excellent in my opinion.

Also, I just watched...I think it's called The Ugly Truth. Don't remember, but it's a romantic comedy with Gerard Butler (who I actually like as an actor now, 300 just blew). And although I'm not big on the genre, I kinda liked it.

Just pre-ordered Inglorious Basterds on Blu-ray. Only $20 on amazon, a steal, or blu0ray is dropping in price. Either way it's good.

And as for Fangoria, I find that their cover films tend to be hit or miss. And some of the films they gush about I don't understand why. But they have steered me towards movies I've really enjoyed, like Repo! The Genetic Opera and others I can't remember (too many). Although I do have to say I've largely ignored the Twilight splurges. The first was a boring mess, and the second should just be retitled "shirtless men with pointy teeth".

Roman Polanski would like that title.

    District 9

I didn't liked the documentary style but overall this is a great movie.

I saw China's Stolen Children, a documentary on China's increasing kidnappings of children.

It was very informative and eye-opening, yes, but I didn't like how the camera would pan in parents' mourning for 5-10 minutes. I already felt sorry for them, deeply. A minute or two would have been appropriate, but damn, they felt the need to sit there and watch them for said time earlier.

That's my only gripe with it. What I'm really wondering is how the Chinese government is going to deal with the One Child Policy in 2010, as that was the stated year that they wanted to keep it too (at least, they also added), and then...who knows. Maybe a Two Child Policy. I wouldn't doubt it.

...rented Terminator Salvation on PPV, last night. It's not the best in the series, IMO, but it was exactly what I had come to expect of it - a film of war. Overall, I liked it, though I think it wil be quite awhile before I rewatch it.
