It doesn't include PAL releases, but given how utterly irrelevant the N64 and DC were there, I'm not sure we should even bother to go into those details. RE2 sold about 4.9 Million on the PSone, so give 2 Million of those to Japan, dividing up the rest between PAL and NTSC/UC.

But actually, RE4's releases were more spaced out than RE2's. RE2 got the Dual Shock release fairly early, and RE2 was out on the N64 and Dreamcast within two years of the PSone version. RE2 also hit the PC much sooner than RE4 did. Meanwhile, RE4 hit the Wii 2.5 years after the initial GC version, and it took longer for it to hit PS2 than for the Dual Shock one to hit.

One way or another, RE2 couldn't possibly be too far ahead on a worldwide scale and is probably ahead in the West. The Wii and PS2 games haven't stopped selling, either.

Comparing the Dual Shock version to different console versions seems a bit pointless, since the former replaced the standard RE2 SKU in late August and isn't a new version. Much like RE DC Dual Shock, which was the first game's only Greatest Hits outing.

PC versions are more or less irrelevant, particularly in RE4's case.
