well . yeah.. lol, most comparisons have noted the lack of detail in the water on the ps3 version. Look at this pictorial comparison. Its a massive image, let it load fully.
+ While obviously retconned, gave a satisfactory explanation to Weskers mystery virus he used in RE1. A plothole I had previously concidered irreversible.
+ Voice acting and acting in general is very good.
+ Cutscenes and fightscenes are amazing.
+ The files you unlock and access from the game menu which were way too long to have ingame, but it was a great move by Capcom since you now have ~30+ page files to flesh out the story and the characters.
- Wish they had intertvined RE4's plot more, and answered some of the questions left there.
- They should've put more focus on making single player playable without having to play coop. Sheva is worse than Ashley, AI wise. Too many times does she stand right infront of you when you're trying to aim, or stand behind you shooting you repeatedly in the back of the skull when you're trying to aim. And that's just one of the AI's many issues.
- Inventory screen...
- Mechanics of the bossfights aren't very inspired, and alot of times confusing. Especially the last one which was all trial and error.
- Mechanics of some of the enemies are just frustrating. Things that 1-hit you if you get too close, without even getting a button press dodge option. Infuriating concidering the time it takes to quick turn and run away from something. And I don't mean 1-hit as in puts you in the "dying" state, I mean 1-hit as in triggers an animation that sends you into the "You Are Dead!" state.
That's all that comes to mind right now.

i think what i saw in this game was Too much movies in this like ghost rider ,star wars (without the lightsaber &force ) and female Raiden from Metal Gear solid 4 which i think what they did with jill was VERY VERY Stupid. jill has blonde hair WtF!? sheva kepp getting me killed half of the time online co-op is cool depends who your playing with, i think capcom should of had chris and jill get them together , as always the ending sucked im sry but i feel soo disappointed for Resident Evil 5 i do see why Shinji dont want to play it. Jun did not do a good job as did with lost planet mediocre and on jill she looks like sheva with long blond hair about thats it she from Normal then into this ninja Hollywood and Jun Killed Resident Evil 5 and its his there fault Shinji needs to come back fix everything up

i thought RE4 was better in terms of gameplay, scares, level of fun while playing it, and just about everything except story.
but this files you unlock make it all worth buying.![]()
i disliked the first 2 chapters at first. but now on my second play through there ok. it gets a little better in the marshlands but not by much.
i hated the militia Majini with the AK-47's because It's ment to be a horror game not a shooter!
also RE5 has the worst overall atmosphere in there entire series.
the atmosphere was bad ass specialy when we got to the part with the lickers now that was creepy and awsome( and those big rats in the cage HAHA wtf) no but i really enjoyed this game and in my eyes there is nothing in this game that made me to feel that its bad so ya actully in my eyes this game is all 100% good
awsome kickass the best !
oh yeah, lol i forgot about the lickers. A.K.A the only enemies that actually possed a threat at all.
they were pretty awesome. i did like the licker part.
I was really impressed with RE5. I actually found that many of the areas, namely the underground areas (1-2, 4-1, 4-2, 5-1) were extremely atmospheric. The co-op play was brilliant. The story was entertaining and satisfying. Many encounters were extremely tense and fun (especially the fights with the Lickers). There's an amazing amount of weapons and unlockables in the game as well; Capcom really outdid themselves in this regard. My issues with the game are this:
-Nearly all of the bosses were too easy, especially during the first half of the game.
-Enemies with one-hit kill attacks are annoying as hell, especially in Mercs. At least put us in dying status or give us a dodge prompt.
-Much shorter than RE4 (which took me 20 hours). Even with some ample exploration and area combing my friend and I finished RE5 in 9 hours.
i finish re 5 in 12 hours and 2 min XD and it was all a kick ass timeim really satisfide with this game

The co-op was obviously fun. I played through the entire game with the same person and it was a blast. Love how the quick time events depend on which character you play, really involves you in the cutscenes. I missed shooting at Wesker in the airplane hanger battle and Wesker twisted Chris's head. We laughed.
But even I, a huge RE4 fan, was amazed at how unscary it is. At least RE4 had some scary moments, like the regenerators. RE5 didn't even try. And not being able to give weapons to you partner is WHACK. C'mon Capcom...c'mon.
Story didn't really get that interesting until Wesker shows up and the last part of it was all fantastic. I just wish more questions were answered.
I still love the game, but some disappointments none the less.
Yeah i was shocked to, the game impres me all the time by visual point and they canot do some water reflections come on what is this, the marshlands looks like shit, the horrible water kills all the fun of this level, I like it alot but is so ugly, water is like concrete that cuts Chris on half. I hope they realise soon a patch to fix this pathetic water and the level become normal like the 360 version.
Well, if you were playing through the entire game with a friend, chatting away via a headset, then that probably reduced the fear factor considerably, don't you think?
RE4 was NOT scary, just as RE5 was NOT scary.
Wow, then you must have been really disappointed by RE4's story, or should I say, lack of one. As for questions being answered...are you serious? This game ties together all RE games, whereas RE4 didn't answer shit (or even relate to the other games).
Wow. Bitching about the graphics of the water. Wow. Yes, it really "kills all the fun of this level."![]()
well the only scary thing in RE4 was burning refrigerator Ganado![]()
um....no.
This.
I thought RE5 had a much more intense feel, which at times, even with a partner, gave it a much creepier feel than 4. RE5 had a slightly more realistic tone to it. Watching the men in the beginning dragging that guy away, and then seeing them beating that bag gave the game a very dark undertone. If you happen to die in the public assembly, you get a view up at a horde of majini as they hack you to pieces. That was probably one of my favorite death scenes (we didn't see too many...I'd love to see them all). More aggressive enemies to me made RE5 scarier than 4. Not like either was bone chillingly terrifying though. The scariest part of the game was early on when you only had the hand gun with 10 shots and no ammo, and you were facing about 30 majini in a tight passage.
Venom has a point there.
I finally finished it early this morning, and I thought it was pretty damn good. It has it's faults of course, such as the terrible A.I., but other than that I thought it was good way to end it. The game had me a bit worried all the way to the middle, because it I wasn't really feeling like this game was going to capture the essence of the original storyline, but towards the end with all the cutscenes it really picked up. Some parts were a bit ridicolous(such as Jill), but the whole chris v.s. wesker scenarious were EPIC.

Resident Evil - Castlevania - Silent Hill - Onimusha - Tekken
This is one of the most overrated comparisons between the two versions. Really? The PS3 copy lacks some reflections on the water's surface and all of a sudden it's a big deal?
Let's be honest here, the water looks pretty shit in both versions. Aside from that the game is gorgeous, but man, large bodies of water look pretty lame. Passable, I suppose, but lame nonetheless. That said, I emphasize "large bodies of water" because anytime it's small or shallow pools of water or streaming water it looks quite gorgeous. There's just something about the water at the port in chapter 2-1 and the water in the marshlands that looks like aluminium foil.
Spoiler:
