Yes, bring zombies back, but are you implying that people who like Las Plagas aren't fans?

I think they should bring some zombies back, but not have the whole plot revolve around trying to escape from them.

Oh yes bring the zombies back! And make it where there is like 20 on-screen zombies or crimson heads plus some hunters to go along with it.

You didn't have the option I would have chosen (FUCK YES) but I imagined it that way when I voted anyway. So all good.

RE - Zombies = Las Plagas bullshit.

That equation makes me very sad.

Zombies were in RE5. Those things on the conveyer belt. Yeah I know they aren't actually "zombies" but they were about as useful as them. They grab you and do nothing.

So here comes the argument "BUT TEH ZOMBIEZ KAN BYTE YOU AND YOU GET INFECTED". And to that I say ...false. I'll use Resident Evil 3 as an example. Jill running from zombies, but accidently lets one grab her. It takes a bit before I can shake it off and you can clearly see blood. Jill is fine. How can that not turn her or any other main RE character like it does everyone else? I guess you can argue that canon-wise, no zombie ever caught a main character it was just a gameplay possibility. Then to that I say, I rest my case that the zombies suck and are useless. I wouldn't mind having them in the game, but as an annoyance, not a major plot enemy.

I like the plaga aspect of the ganado/majini, so if that's around then I wouldn't be opposed to it. I recall darkmoon desiring the plaga carriers to have the parasite peeking out of their bodies pre-sprout. That would be a creepy design.

But if I had to choose, yes, bring back zombies. Make their movements vary a la RE3 and of course, USE DAMN CRIMSON HEADS DAMMIT!

    What about a Majini/Ganado infected with T-Virus?

You can make pretty much all the same arguments against Ganado and Majini's you know. None of them apparently managed to get an axe into Chris' face since he doesn't have a massive scar and one eye nor does Leon S. Kennedy have third degree burns covering him from being blown up by blasting explosives. Hell, by your logic Wesker, Nemesis, Tyrants...all useless. All completely pointless. None of them managed to cause any serious wounds, canon wise, after all.

I prefer zombies simply because they're more terrifying to me. A human that still acts human, albeit very agressively, isn't as scary as a mobile corpse. There are diseases that can send humans nuts (rabies, for example) but there is something terrible and chilling about becomming the walking dead.

And let's face it...thirty zombies, staggering towards you from all directions, moving at a jogish speed not getting stunned by things like rounds to knee for long would be as dangerous as anything else you can deal with. Plus you can have things like zombies lurking around corners and behind windows, ready to grab someone, since unlike Ganados they are not insansely aggressive and would be just as likely to stay where they died until they saw Leo-I mean lunch.

And I'm not saying you need to dump Majini/Ganado style enemies. Having infected plagas turning people into half zombie/half ganado later in the game would be nasty, and it might be an interesting dynamic having both the t-virus and plagas loose (and let's face it, both are fairly easy to get now) in that they may not co-operate. Maybe during the game you could weaken one set of monsters or another, deciding on which later game enemies would appear.

I hear ya dude, it's just not the same without our undead companions. The scares they could make with zombies on next-gen...limitless. I mean, I was playing RE2 last week and the whole time I was thinking, if this didn't look like crap (no offense), I would still be scared as shit lol. There's just a big difference between a "ganado" or whatever the hell you want to call them, and zombies. I think it's just scarier when something that is dead and rotting is walking towards you, with the full intention of eating you...hell even their groans make you think twice about turning that corner.

It's nice to see that there are 67 votes for Yes, and 5 for No. At least the Darkside Chronicles has zombies in it, and not those stupid ganados.

The zombies never scared me, the only thing in this game that ever did was the unexpected. Those moments where you can tell somethings going to jump out at you, but you don't know what or when.

To make zombies even remotely terrifying you need as you said, high volumes of them. With the Majini/Ganados they were able to take the humanoid and use them in a variety of different ways. On paper they are more effective then zombies but still didn't manage to get the job done.

People who scream out "OMG ZOMBIES = RESIDENT EVIL/BIOHAZARD" need to go back and play the games and actually pay attention to the plot. The games were about bioweapons, zombies just happened to be a generic enemy npc that they could throw multiple numbers at you to try to get you to waste your limited bullets.

Not saying I wouldn't mind seeing them again, but I don't think they need to be the central enemy or plot.

No, having large numbers of zombies doesn't necessarily mean scarier. Actually, the solution is simple. It's how the zombies are used.

Remember in the early REmake trailer, when Chris was walking down the hall, and the zombie burst through the door the way it did?

And the fear that a crimson head zombie might spring to life?

In the original RE, that the mansion music changed when the hunters arrived?

The atmosphere that was present in the original game? And how the lack of music really helped?

Capcom can make Resident Evil scary if they want, but they'd rather go the action route. Which is what I can't stand. If I wanted an action game, there are plenty of them out there.

Resident Evil should be scary atmospheric survival horror. Plain and simple.

Not "The locales are hostile." Give me a break.
