Default Well guys. I dont know about you, But RE5 was a sad disappointment.

I expected alot more from this game...In the end, Despite how much I tried to enjoy it, It was just a sad disappointment. It was too much of a cross between RE4 and an FPS. Which just made it...Pointless.

There was no fear, No thrill, Not even the slightest bit of entertainment.

Big whoop, Some majins are coming..Just throw a grenade and keep walking...

After games like Left4dead and previous RE games, This one is just...

I think it was better than RE4, but it did have it's fair share of issues. You're right in saying that it has no fear factor, but I did find the Majini to be a lot better than the ganados. If nothing else they didn't just stand and wait to be shot. Add in a story that is a lot better than RE4's (albeit with a few issues of it's own) and I think it was pretty much what we were expecting...a fast paced action game, but certainly not survial horror game. Or even an action horror game as RE4 claimed to be.

Which is why I always find the tag line 'Fear You Can't Forget' funny, because apparently I forgot it all.

The reason its -the fear you cant forget- Is because RE5 was such a failure compared to previous releases, You cant forget the previous games which were good compared to this.

Hell << Even the original RE was better

My disappointments with the game were:

No fear whatsoever, plenty of anger though, usually towards wesker or the damn dogs. You can't forget what you haven't seen.

The chapter select. Lets all go back to 1-1/1-2 and get some more delicious ammo. With RE4 you had to continue onwards regardless, well on my first playthrough of 4 I would find myself a little short for ammo then get a nice supply then run out but with 5 I found myself compelled to replay the earlier chapters to gain more ammo.

Story just didn't really cut it for me. Maybe with time it might grow on me but at this point in time I disliked it.

Here's hoping they do something special for RE6 in 2012 or when ever.

If their going to do anything special thats RE related. It would be put RE outbreak file 1 and 2 in a combo package as one big game on the PSN.

Cant go wrong with 4 player multi online, Much better than 2player

You played through the whole game without getting "the slighest bit of entertainment"? I can understand if you don't like the game, and agree it has flaws, but I don't think I can think of a single game I've played, even the ones I hated with a passion, I could say I didn't get the slightest bit of entertainment out of. That's a pretty extreme statement which smells suspiciously like trollshit.

I think Resident Evil 5 is an amazingly entertaining game. It is quite possibly the best action game I've played...The only problem I have with it is, well, it isn't Resident Evil. At all. So, I can understand some fans' disappointment with the game.

Dont question me as a troll you POS little brat -_- I paid 90 bucks for the collectors edition, And didnt come across ANYTHING useful in it, I mean for gods sakes, The guide is beautiful, The figure, Is lame, the picture, Why would I want this?

If they wonna que off the release right, They should include something like a container of fake T-Virus, or at least an RPD replica handgun made of metal, or hell, plastic wouldve been ok.

The only part that was SLIGHTLY entertaining, was at the end when you buttoncombo the hell oughtta a boulder and end up jabbing, and doing all kinds of crazy stuff to it.

Other than that, everything was boring and just aggravating.

Oi, do not insult members. Ever. This is the only warning you will get, Nirvash.

Sina, folks are entitled to there views. Don't call troll because someone's is different. I know I played several games that didn't give me entertainment, such as anything to do with football, ever.

Once again, I found the game scary and feel all of you have missed the point.

The game isn't scary to most of you because you are desensitized.

RE5 is far from being the best game in the series, but I still enjoyed it. I definitely enjoyed it more than RE4, that's for sure. While I have various problems with the storyline, the characters, etc., I still like the game. Yes, I prefer the "older" games in the RE series and always will, but I still find RE5's gameplay to be fun, and yes, exciting.

It's not like you didn't pay for the Collector's Edition not knowing what it came with. I agree it's not the most spectacular thing in the world, but you didn't have to buy the CE. Capcom didn't keep the content a secret.

And, I wanted a life-size Sheva doll, whose hair I could brush and whose clothes I could change. We don't always get what we want.

    Oh, I see.

You are definitely entitled to your own opinion, Nirvash. I respect that. But, it's hard to get on board with what you're saying when you're hardly presenting anything deeper than simply, "This game sucks. The end."

I think it's more different things scare different people. Swarm tactics don't scare me in games because they don't scare me IRL. I can and have fought several people at once successfully, because I was bigger and stronger and smarter than they were. But the fast packed action pace meant I always knew what was ahead...more enemies. More fighting. There's no downtime to explore, to solve puzzles, whatever. And so running into an enemy isn't a surprise, it's a given.

Simply put, I always knew what I was going to face. Sure, I didn't know exactly what, and the Reapers were a bit of a shock, but there was never anything I couldn't handle. Where as with the older games you don't know, when you walk through a door for the first time, what will b waiting. And so when you enter a room and hear nothing, then go walking around and holyfuckingshitzombierightthere! happens it works well.

Plus I prefer a few stronger enemies to swarms of weak ones, but that's just me.

Out of curiosity...what exactly did you find so scary?

I don't really see how the fact someone chose to abuse the Chapter Select system is a valid complaint about the game. You knew exactly what you were doing and you knew it would detract from your own experience, just because a game tempts you with something doesn't mean it's a good idea.

Sorry, I meant I haven't played a single game I didn't get one bit of entertainment out of that I played all the way through. I've played plenty a game I've had no reason to finish, that's true, but I find it odd that someone could sit through ~10 hours of gameplay and not find the slightest bit fun in it, even if you hated the majority. That just sounds like a plain lie.

Right, sorry Darkmoon, troll might've been harsh. He's just a sensitive, angry, overly emotional person, over a game, making his posts kind of... angry and emotional, making him contradict himself and say stupid things. Not exactly trolling, sorry.

Right, something my parents taught me when I was 5 years old you might find helpful was that if you're going to pay 90$ for something, then find out beforehand what you're getting. Hahaha.

You make valid points, but please, for what's left of my sanity don't call people trolls. It never ends well, ever. Just report them instead.

Oh, and seriously. Don't feed anyone you think is trolling. Again, we're looking for debate...not flame wars and bitching sessions. You've been told this before. If the only reply you can think of is gonna cause a fight then don't bother posting it, because your ass will be in as much trouble as the guy who stated it.

I loved it. All of these people claiming they're disappointed with the game, saying it isn't scary, etc. What were you expecting? The media coverage surrounding the game was HUGE. If you played RE4, this was not a far cry off from that in terms of fear factor. Even so, RE5 has a lot of slower, more methodically paced moments of suspense that people just seem to completely forget once they finish the game and decide to hate it. RE5 is no more of an action game than RE4 was. If you hated RE4, I can see why you'd hate RE5. However, regardless if you liked or disliked RE4, if you played, you should have known what to expect and how RE5 ended up should be no shocking surprise.

People can say "it isn't Resident Evil" all they want, and they could be right to some degree, but I learned a long time ago that things evolve over time. You can either accept it or you can't. I accepted it, and I enjoy the hell out of RE5.

It had Chris Redfield and Albert Wesker in it...that's still Resident Evil to me.

Just to be clear, a lot of things in RE5 pissed me off...mainly story elements. And when I think about these issues I have with the game, I get annoyed and say "ugh, it could've been better," but that doesn't prevent me from really enjoying RE5 when I play it. Could it have been better? Absolutely. Did they mishandle the characters and story? Of course. But that doesn't change the fact that RE5 is still a really fun game.

    Basically how I feel.

Of all things, the story disappointed me the most. I was expecting the Progentitor Virus and it's origin to play center stage, but it was only glanced at in the files. I expected this somewhat, but still. It didn't give me the "This is the last game" epic feel I was hoping for. Still a good game though, and without a doubt the best co-op game yet.
