What about Biohazard: Director’s Cut / Director’s Cut Dual Shock Ver. (PS1 - Japan) and Resident Evil: Director’s Cut (PS1 - Germany)? Were there any changes made? How about the Sega Saturn version?

@kevstah2004 - I noticed that in the “PC Demo Download” thread started by Anders that the German demo also shows Kenneth’s uncensored death. Is this the only one?

Lastly, does anyone really know why they censored Kenneth’s death? I can certainly see why they made some changes to the introduction, but the decapitation scene just seems rather tame to me, especially when you compare it to some of the in-game deaths. I’m just curious. Thanks in advance, guys. I appreciate the help.

The French & German Director's Cut Kenneth scene is censored, I haven't checked Chris's bad ending though.
Only Biohazard psx version has it as far as I know along with the pc games and deadly silence, all Biohazard releases are uncensored but the prologue appears in black & white apart from the pc version.

Outstanding, gentlemen. Thanks for reminding me about Deadly Silence, Gene. I've been lookin' through Ander's Lost Releases site throughout the afternoon. Christ, there are a lot of variations. Just to be sure, kevstah, the 1997 Deutsch demo is uncensored, correct?

[QUOTE=CrimsonElder;162193]I'll try this, didnt know it existed. Thanks.

EDIT: I managed to make it to the very end of the game, I have saved it right before the second Tyrant fight however my health is on danger and I have no green herbs only several red and blue. Im not even going to attempt to fight Tyrant on the helipad. Looks like I have to start all over again :-( Think I'll try Classic mode next time Rebirth really takes the piss with the touchpad fight sequences.

EDIT 2: I restarted the game on classic mode and completed it in 2 and half hours. I actually filled the item box with heal and ammo and such. Thats a first time I've ever done that in any Re game. Much prefer it on classic mode. I forgot how much I loved this game since I havent played it in many of years. Anytime I decide to play Re1 I usually opt for Remake. Also sorry for the double post, dont know how that happened can you delete the one above if you have to? Thanks.

Not sure why you found it so hard on Rebirth. If anything you should get more ammo/health items from the knife scenes. If you ever try Rebirth again, you could always just hold right on the D-Pad till the text turns green at the start when you're selecting Rebirth or Classic, and you get twice as much ammo and herbs. Or you could do the trick when you keep exiting the door in the dining hall before you see the zombie and when you see Kenneth his legs are gone. Supposed to make it easier.

Really? Cool thanks I'll try these tips. When I played Rebirth mode I got say 2 herbs and 3 hangdun clips from like 25-30 touchscreen fights.

Yup. Right at the start, before you go to see Barry or anything, keep exiting the dining hall until Barry says something about "losing your heart, that's not like you". When that happens and you talk to Barry, the zombie will burst through the door, Barry will shoot it and Kenneth's legs will be eaten. This should make the difficulty easier. The actual cheat code as well is the holding the D Pad right thing until the "Classic Mode" or "Rebirth Mode" text goes green, and then you'll not die as easily, and whenever you pick up any ammo or anything, you'll get twice the amount, like 30 handgun bullets a time.

Started the pc version re-recording. I figured out the poisonous gas while making vjolt. Theres two mixtures which will make it form. Mixture 8 and mixture 15. Both produce the same gas as in the 2nd floor armor room.

7 and 8 have two combos didn't try NP-003 "Purple" + Water to see if it'd make Umb No. 4 "Green" though, once V-Jolt is made it can't be mixed with anything else, others just dissappear I think, bottles can't be mixed outside that room either, I tried looking for a flag that activates it but no luck, I also tried saving it with the gas leaked with a save anywhere hack but it just reset to normal without the gas , I wanted to see if it had any effect on the cpu characters or enemies health, might try adding some to the rdt instead.

Anyone ever play RE on ePSXe with shaders? I'm trying to find a good one, at the moment the cel-shade type shaders make the character models look awesome as well as the blood/liquid effects but the backgrounds are kinda dark. I don't think the background resolution is good enough for the first game...

    Cel-shaded Resident Evil? Sounds interesting.

I've noticed the effect when I tried it the other month, but I remember feeling like the character model was compressed too much (then again I didn't really tried too much on the graphic configuration settings on the emulator). Speaking of which, I should really continue my megaman legends run through...

Yeah, I agree some detail is lost. In this screen, Chris' head looks like a minature Butthead (Wesker is Beavis?).

    Spoiler:

Judging from screenshots online, the shaders work a lot better with games like FF7.

Here's another weird one.. Sort of like playing it on GBC.

Bloody hell, it's like looking into an old filter with crappy old photoshop effects, making you go into an acip trip. Why not try playing that combined with an older sound plugin that has degraded low audio quality and put it through your headphones and enjoy the adventure!

This is a game that's really playable in its original quality (even for how dated the graphics can be) but it's nice that with the PS1 emulator, you can manipulate the graphics and get some lol-worthy material.
