One other thing I noticed was if you don't have a weapon aimed at a Hunter, they generally play with you a lot more. They simply slash rather than leaping into the air. I don't know if its only certain rooms or if it is indeed because I don't have a weapon equipped though.

Also, Rebecca won't heal your poison status. If shes in the guard house chemical room, its infinite heals. The mansion chemical save room is only 3.

About the leaping/beheading Hunter: Hunter behead me only when my character is already wounded. Some people claimed that they were beheaded even with full health but this never happened to me.

I didn't know about Rebecca infinite healing in the guardhouse, that's interesting

Found another if you don't go into the BAR / Piano room before seeing Richard when you goto the room after Richard, Rebecca says "I've decided not to grieve any longer".

I've had it happen, and more than once. The issue I believe isn't that it's "full" health, but that you've taken some small damage or healed only with a single green herb but registers as "Fine" on your status (when you're somehow only 85-90% of the total 100% healed). I think some of the stats in the Japanese guidebooks explain this idea somewhat by breaking down all attacks and health items into a percentage marker.

It seems more frequent in the Director's Cut than the original, so I think it's something else they tweaked with in that. Might be something else to try out.

I certinaly remember getting instant KO'd when I was Fine before. It's a long time since I've played RE1 properly but I remember it happening. If my memory serves me correctly, more so in the Saturn version (I personally think it's harder), but that could just be me.

I believe that's only if you encounter Richard + Rebecca in the 2F. If you meet her on the 1F in the save room, Chris just goes "Is that you Rebecca?" when hes like, 10 feet away from her in a fully lit room.

Noticed the hunter thing a long time ago, assumed it was common knowledge.

Did anyone ever find if there was a way to make Barry stop at the clock? At the beginning, I remember mentioning this to Dot once and he had it happen to him too.

The Hunter insta-kill I always put down to being on low health and using a first aid spray after the hunter started its decap animation, rendering the spray useless.

I think the Barry thing was a bug, but yeah I have it on a DVD somewhere, I'll have to find that and upload it some time. Maybe after I move and we get the RE1 section up

I wonder what is the point of the RE1 section? An entire forum section for the first game?

No, the actual website content section. Not the forum.

I see, thanks. That would make a good information base on RE1, possibility for other RE games eventually.

Is this a glitch? You mean, like this?

I used the stop flags to pause the cutscene during the first segment in this room (Barry walking up the Dining Room towards the clock) and this is where he stops. I assume exactly in the same location you describe in the retail build...

Pretty much like that, except Barry was facing the clock and his hand was under his chin as though he was examining it.

It only happened one time in all the times I've played over 10+ years, so I suppose some freak glitch could have caused it.

From what I can tell by messing around that animation doesn't seem to be a part of the cutscene at least in the 01/31 build. If you just let the scene play out and let Barry keep on walking, he actually teleports past the clock entirely before you have a chance to catch up to him and see. A part of the scene where Barry stops at the clock and looks at it doesn't seem to be a part of anything to do with this scenario at all. In fact, it looks like the game is skipping it entirely as it it went from A) Barry walking up the room, to C) Barry aproaching the blood, skipping out B) Barry having anthing to do with the clock, ENTIRELY.

Only by pausing the scenario was I able to get Barry to actually stop in front of the clock while looking at it like in my last post...

Sorry if this little to do with this thread, but this post intrigued me so thought I'd investigate a little... Could very well be that Barry was supposed to do something with the clock but it was removed. You may have very well been looking at an unused part of this scenario.

Now I think about it, the way you describe it does sound familiar. I'm not sure if I remember it happening to me, but there is something very familiar about what you said, almost as if I've seen it my self before...

Is this it? I can't remember much about this game but, just activated a different scenario in this room and this was the result. Still don't think it's what you're reffering to though...

Does anyone know where this scene is from or how to activate it normally?

Figured it out lol! I wish I remembered more about this game, would be much easier knowing what I'm looking at... Got no idea about Barry stopping in front of the clock like you say; someone mentioned there was a video? Have you got a link to it? I know what the room flags do in this room now and none of them seem to indicate any interaction between Barry and the clock, tried all the things I could (so far) to force it out and I'm pretty confident there's nothing there. Seems a very unique thing indeed...

Yes It's more like that, it played the initial cut-scene as you say then Barry just stopped at the clock for reasons unknown.

I've been thinking about trying to see if I can get it to happen again. But I doubt my chances because it only happened that one time in 10+ years.

About the video of it, Dot has a copy it perhaps he'll upload it sometime.
