Sam Mendes in negotiations to direct Bond 23

After Marc Foster this is the second most famous director to helm the bond series.

I loved Casino Royale. imo it showed a vicious side of Bond that I always wanted to see. I have only seen Goldeneye, Tomorrow Never Dies, Die Another Day, and Casino Royale. They were all great imo. I loved the music and the cars. I also loved the darker side of Bond that Craig gave him. Made the movie more intense.

Interesting pick for Director. Should be interesting to see what he would do with Bond (and other characters) if he was on the helm of taking the direction on the 23rd film.

I'm pretty fond of the James Bond movies: The Spy Who Loved Me and GoldenEye.

They should keep that vicious side. It made the movies more interesting.

According to Barbara Broccoli the new Bond film has been delayed

Due to the continuing uncertainty surrounding the future of MGM and the failure to close a sale of the studio, we have suspended development on Bond 23 indefinitely. We do not know when development will resume and do not have a date for the release of Bond 23

    Nice going MGM....

Next James Bond Film Permanently Canceled

The latest film was shaping up to be one of the franchise’s best with Sam Mendes in the director's chair and Peter Morgan writing the screenplay. If someone swoops in to save MGM we may have a Bond film in the near future, we can still hope.

James Bond isn't going anywhere, it's a huge franchise I'm sure that they will find a solution.

But by the time they do it may be too late for Daniel Craig.

The same thing happened with Dalton when it took six years to sort out the legal wrangle. He was a very underrated Bond in my opinion.

I'd regret it if that happened. Quantum of Solace was a mediocre film, he needs another good one to stake his claim, because Casino Royale showcased him quite nicely.

    My favorite Movies Byfar are:

    From Russia With Love
    Thunderball
    Goldfinger
    Diamonds Are Forever
    Moonraker
    The Man With the Goldengun
    A View To A Kill
    A License to Kill
    GoldenEye
    Casino Royal

    My favorite Bond games are:

    Goldeneye N64
The World is Not Enough N64
    Tomorrow Never Dies PSX
    007 Everything Or Nothing PS2

Even though an un-official Bond Movie,Never Say Never Again.I do like it because it gave Connery some sort of closure to him.Plus the movie was also about if Connery could still play Bond like in his Goldfinger days and also about him breaking his promise that he would never play Bond again. Thus the name "Never Say Never Again".He pulled it off pretty well for his age(mid to late 60s).

Yeah, just like Licence To Kill was a very underrated Bond movie. It's my favourite Bond film alongside Goldeneye.

I want Daniel Craig to quit the role of OO7. OO7 is not an ugly and beef blond guy. He was fine in Casino royale, but that was it. And Casino Royale is overrated. People praised Craig for bringing a more serious and dark side to James Bond but Dalton did it (and better) a long time ago. Licence To Kill is the darkest James Bond. I love it.

James Bond 23 Producer Confident the Film Will Return

Both Barbara [Brocolli, his Bond co-producer] and I are convinced that we'll be bringing you another Bond film soon.
    Let's hope so.
