edit 2 : seems like RSG is only publishing the 360 version .. and while we're talking about hopeful additions to the game, please let there be a map checkpointing system or something now.

On the list of stuff I asked about, this was one of the things they said they'd try to get back to me on later - once they had answers (Stuff related to whether or not there'd be changes to the game).

I mainly just asked about censorship related changes (which there'll be none of, apparently~~), whether there'd be updates to the text (since the US release is full of weird typos and grammar mistakes), and/or extra languages (German/French, maybe?). The latter two I'm still waiting for confirmations on (along with, hopefully, a higher res version of the current placeholder cover art)

Deadly Premonition too scary for Australia?

It’s been a while, but Deadly Premonition is officially the first game of 2010 to be Refused Classification in Australia. The controversial horror-adventure game has been effectively banned Down Under, thanks largely to the lack of an adult rating for video games in that country.

Heh. So the game manages to score a BBFC 15, but not an MA15+?

(It's understandable that PEGI gave it an 18+, 'cause of how PEGI works, but I have no clue how Australia rates stuff... this leaves me just as puzzled, considering what type of titles actually have managed to get an MA15+ down there.)

There's an edit on that article and an edit on GameSpot's article too. Seems like the publiser (All Interactive Entertainment) might either be spreading hogwash or there's a communication cock up somewhere...
(Or maybe AIE is trying to drive up hype by spreading false rumors about the game being banned, to then release it?)

The English assets are the same as in the US version, so apparently no changes there.

However, the game will be available with the following languages:

Audio: English
Text: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish!

if they're already sending out copies to european publications the release date shouldn't be too far off either .

That boxart, for want of a better, more subtle term...is fucking shit. Seriously, that's like the sort of artwork you'd get on a 99p PS2 game in a Tesco bargain bin!

Still, cheap price point, horror game, i'll likely be picking this up.

Looks like there could be another game in the series!

on the new episode of 8-4 Play, Mangod Shane mentioned that he had a meeting with SWERY, the creator of Deadly Premonition, about working on a Deadly Premonition prequel.

There's nothing official to announce or confirm yet, but there is a "strong intention" to continue the adventures of Agent Francis York Morgan.

That's still some good news to hear either way. I want this to be a niche series this generation, after the endurance run from GB this has become a must have for me. I do hope this becomes something special.
