    Brief Description:
Halo:Reach is the next "Big" Halo game coming from Bungie, set in the events that lead before Halo: Combat evolved, involving Humanity's greatest defeat against the Alien, "Covenant". You've seen the end in the Halo trilogy, but the saga continues to show you that once you see the beginning, you know the end. Set around a team of Spartans, they must travel to through hell and back to help the UNSC's forces on Reach try to stop back against the alien forces. More information will come nearer to release.

Just watched this trailer a few hours ago. The graphics are goooood!! At first I thought it was CGI even though I knew it was in-game engine trailer. This trailer was more of a presentation of the graphics, so can't wait for the action trailer!

It is physically IMPOSSIBLE not to think that the first time you see it if you've played MW2!

Game looks pretty tight. With this quality of visual fidelity and the large scale environments and battles that Halo games are standard to, this could be something special.

Will Bungie ever move on from Halo, or will they keep making these games until the end of time?

would you stop production of a PS2, despite being 9 years old, and still selling at least a 100,000 units month? its business. if its profitable, you keep on with it, just like the bazillion games Mario appears in.

I understand how the business model works, I just shake my head whenever I see series that once were good getting constantly milked. I thought the beginning of the end was Halo 3, which I found to be an okay game but nothing spectacular by any stretch. When they started coming out with RTS's and prequels, you know the milking process is in full effect.

My point is, I feel like Bungie would feel tied down after a while. Doesn't the creative process make them want to move on to something new? I can understand being perfectly fine with wiping your ass with $20 bills, but much like Hideo Kojima wants to move on from MGS, I feel like they'd want to try something new for a change.

yeah, but Konami is like an independent 3rd party company who can support any console or handheld, aside from some exclusiveness. Microsoft has rights to the Halo franchise, so if Microsoft wants another Halo game made, then yeah, it shall be made. =P

That's a good point...but when does Bungie say "no, Halo is done. We've exhausted it and we want to create a brand new IP." Do they ever say it? Or do they just continue to milk this cash cow until they're churning out 3 Halo games a year? Hell, 2009 saw two of them.

i wish Halo did stop at #3. after 3, they haven't been that good to me. i mean, ODST had some cool things about it, i'm so tired of using the same weapons, killing the same enemies. Reach needs to be redefined and refreshing, it needs to be new, and not just a game that has a brand new engine behind it.

Halo:Reach is Bungie's last halo game (for at least a while, if they ever decide to do another. And if so, it's most likely going to be a side game since 343 studios is going to make the next "Halo 4" game) as their next project is a new entirely IP. Halo's going to be a long running series, like with several franchises out there.

                          UPDATE:

                            Holy shit!

                            Stolen from Bungie.net

                            - We play as Spartan IIIs. Jorge is the only Spartan II on the team.

                            - Carter 259 and Kat 320 are the only members of their original squad.

                            - Jorge is a heavy weapons specialist.

                            - "Skully" now has a name, Emile 239. He's the silent type of the game.

                            - The sniper is called Jun 266. He's thoughtful and taciturn.

                            - We can customise the appearance of the Lone Wolf by a small degree. Awesome.

                            - The game is apparently darker than any of the other Halo games, even more so than ODST.

                            - Human Insurrectionists are possibly in the game

                            - Bungie have once again made the Covenant more dangerous and frightening, as they were in Halo 1.

                            - Covenant soldiers no longer speak English, they speak in their own languages.

                            - A new enemy like a Jackal has been introduced, named a "Skirmisher." They are deadly and cunning enemies that attack in packs, and flank secure positions.

                            - Graphics have been improved drastically, as proven by in-magazine comparisons.

                            - Elites are back, and are more ferocious than ever.

                            - Larger scale combat will be in Reach. Where only 20 AI at a time could be on screen in Halo 3, now over 40 AI and 20 vehicles can be present at a time.

                            - Scenes are more cinematic.

                            - Noble Team splits up at a point in the story.

                            - Health Bar is back along with energy shield.

                            - Single shot rifle like the Halo 2 E3 demo is in the game, named the Designated Marksman Rifle (DRM)

                            - Sniper, AR and Magnum make a return. Gun sounds are more realistic.

                            - Needler Rifle is in the game, a mid-range headshot capable weapon.

                            - Spike Grenades and Flame Grenades are out. Only frags and plasma remain.

                            - Helicopter Transport is called the Falcon.

                            - Civillian vehicles are now drivable.

                            - Fully stealthy gameplay is now possible.

                            - Assassinations are possible with a knife by holding down the melee button.

                            - Sprinting is now possible through an equipment like mechanic.
