Icon2 [RELEASE] Dreamcast Codes [RE3 - DC]

Code:
+-----------------------------------------+

RESIDENT EVIL 3: NEMESIS
Code Breaker / AR CDX
By: VirusPunk

+-----------------------------------------+
The following codes were created using nulldc and chankast cheater+. Most of these codes should work on any cheat disk for the Dreamcast, but it works most effectively on the Codebreaker. All codes were hacked by me unless specified otherwise.

.: Weird/Funny Codes :.

Code:
Weird Speed Modifier
01893FB8 0000000X
Replace X w/ 1-F

Oddly, decreasing the hex number makes your character go even faster and more chaotic.

Code:
Weird Speed Modifier 2 (Also Rapid Fire)
01893F5D 000000XX
Seems the Weird Speed Modifier 2 code only works in Nulldc, but the first one works fine.

Replace XX w/ any hex digits. Higher hex digits may cause your character to fly off the screen.

Code:
Earthquake Mode
018991FC 00000003
Screen constantly shakes violently while making a loud rumble sound.

Code:
Buggy Cutscene Mode
018991FB 0000FFFF
When you push forward Jill does the box pushing animation, the camera also locks in place until the code is deactivated by using joker commands.

Code:
Buggy Cutscene Mode 2
018991FC 00000019
This one actually lets you enter a new camera angle but is still quite buggy.

.: Inventory Box Beta Items :.

(Originally Codejunkies, converted from AR/GS format by me.)

Note: None of these items can be used for anything. They are simply there for show.

I converted and managed to get this one working on my PAL copy:

Weird Speed Modifier 1
017F4EE4 0000000X

But when I tried the second one, I got nothing but a black screen on boot. I would try it in Nulldc but I currently don't have an ISO of RE3, but I shall grab one now just to see if it works. Only problem with Dreamcast games, can't run em on ya PC because of the GD-ROM format.

I've always wanted a rapid fire code for RE3, I tried to hack one myself once for the Gamecube version but all I managed was a random ammo code, every time you fired your gun, it's ammo amount would change randomly. It was basically a strange infinite ammo code.

You can get rapid-fire by just changing the ammunition type it uses the same value as the gun you have equipped just at different address.

I've made rapid-fire codes for all the PSone versions Of RE/BH, and I accomplished them easily: animation modifers.

Simply, find the memory offset that determines the character's animation flag (0 standing, 1 walking, etc) and freeze the offset value to the corresponding "fire weapon" flag.

From my archive of long-lost, self-made GS cheats:

Code:

Yeah there seems to be plenty floating around for the PSX versions but when it comes to the Gamecube/Dreamcast versions, there's nothing.

I'm sure it can't be all that easy because Jay007 would have made them, and he did some great stuff on the Gamecube versions.

It is possible to convert the PSone codes to GCN/DC counterparts; I know this for a fact, as I have done it myself. It wasn't easy, but it's possible. I know of others who've done the same, as well.

Well, if you have the correct hard/software and the knowledge to hack such cheats, it really isn't hard to accomplish. The hardest thing is sifting through hexdecimal offsets to find the correct ones to modify.

Unfortunately, there aren't very many people (it seems) with such hard/software+desire to hack GCN/DC games, anymore.

Back when the gcn action replay scene was extremely active, even then, the people hacking such cheats were always interested in particular titles (Zelda, Mario, etc). Lucky for everyone, JAY007 was interested in Resident Evil.

Yeah, back then I mostly remember everything being revolved around Super Smash Bros Melee.

Was a shame really because back then I was so willing to code hack and learn it all but by the time I figured out why I couldn't get GCNrd to work, the scene was pretty much already dead. When I finally did get GCNrd working, I still got some good advice but I just didn't have the noggin to get around it all and so never really found anything decent.

All I really have to show for my work in GCNrd is this old thing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StP1RDrpN_s

So then after that I just went into code converting which is a simple process really given the right tools (Deltamaker, GCNcrypt etc.), but can take time finding the right offset value.

But as for converting codes from system to system, I've only heard about it but never seen anything about it.

I've tried for years to get GCNrd to work - PSO exploit, Max Drive Pro, and to no avail. Hopefully and considering the GCN/Wii emulator, Dolphin, gets atleast 1-2 new builds everyday, it shouldn't be too much longer until a AR/cheat search function is made, and i'm sure the end result will be an increase in (perhaps flood?) of new AR cheats for various GCN titles. In case you didn't know, you can grab the newest versions of Dolphin (posted daily+it already contains AR cheat support), at the link below:

If I can ever find the time, someday i'll write a guide (if someone else hasn't already).

Well the problem I had was a silly one, the memory card I was using wasn't an official card so the data would corrupt when trying to connect to GCNrd. When I got an official card it was fine.

One reason I don't bother with it anymore though is because my new modem/router won't accept connections from the Gamecube on local, yet I can connect to the internet through the modem fine and play online with PSO, go figure...

For times when offset porting doesn't work it's easier to look for an address close that of the address your looking for and find a value which only appears once, I had to do that for the character modifier for the Biohazard 2 trial edition, I found a 8Byte value that appeared once then just added the difference between the two addresses.

Sorry to bump this old thread but I'm excited!

Woo hoo! I finally figured out the PSX to Dreamcast increment method and hacked the Player Mod code for the Dreamcast version. It’s rather simple really, the last digit from the PSX address is always the same. That means, more codes are soon to come!

Code:
Player Model Changer
01899256 0000000X

8 = Carlos
9 = Mikhail
A = Nicholai
B = Brad
C = Dario
F = Tofu
Remember, create a save without any codes turned on at the warehouse with only the handgun equipped, then load the Player Mod code and loadgame.

Two more...

Code:
Clocktower Nemesis Battle
00899246 00000002
When you start a New Game it skips you to the Nemesis battle after he blows up the chopper at the Clocktower.

Code:
Brad Doesn’t Bust through the Door
01899270 000000F3
01899270 000000F4
The area where Brad is supposed to bust through the door doesn’t happen. Instead the door is wide open and the zombies are already outside... Weird code.

EDIT:

Code:
Almost All Enemies Don't Attack (Ported f/ PSX to Dreamcast By VirusPunk)
01893FC0 00008000
I partially ported the "Almost all enemies don't attack code", the problem is I need a joker. I practically tested everywhere to no avail.
