Default Cryptic Musings of a News Bot

    1) Chris and Jill modified their Samurai Edges following 2003, when bioterrorism became prominent.

    2) Leon's handgun is an amaglamation of the USP, SOCOM and P8... and is designed by someone previously involved with S.T.A.R.S.

    3) Umbrella has an anti-B.O.W. weapons manufacturer, a subsidiary.

    4) Wesker likes to steal weapon specifications as well, and use the name of the weapon as part of his master plan.

    5) A Samurai Edge found its way to a religious person, with a cryptic inscription.

    6) Rebecca's Samurai Edge is not a custom weapon, it is a normal M92F with a paint job.

    7) Barry and Chris liked to drink at J's Bar. When Chris had just joined S.T.A.R.S. at the age of 24, Barry showed him a prototype of his Colt Anaconda.

    8) HUNK's actual nickname is "God of Death".

    9) The Umbrella Security Service was tasked with the protection of company executives and facilities, but had much more covert missions.

    10) With the rise of bioterrorism, police and military units worldwide began manufacturing custom weapons to deal with B.O.W.s

    11) The gun Chris uses in the first RE5 trailer is called the "Saber", and is one of the above weapons, and actually canon.

    Project Umbrella feature coming soon.

We've only translated bits and pieces but it'll take time before we get the full things done. They are pretty expansive.

I will say this though, I knew Capcom had a knack for putting very neat background information into obscure sources... but not this obscure. They are relatively unknown to both Capcom Europe and Capcom USA.

Nope, they aren't from the Kaitaishinsho guides.

Wouldn't be so cryptic if they were haha.

It has come to my attention that the source is not an officially licensed CAPCOM source, so here it is. We might still translate it but its no longer top priority.

    http://www.y-cw.com/bio-index.htm
    http://www.y-cw.com/pv-index.htm

Still, mighty fascinating. And if it were officially licensed I would not hesitate in taking the story details provided as canon.

That's a shame, though i feel they are still worth translating. After all they do not seem to retconning anything we already know, they are simply adding little details. No real reason not to accept them really - they are quite detailed.

Mind if i show them to iambubbaq?

Whilst we are on the topic of new material, according to Biohazard Umbrella Chronicles Side A, the nemesis in Raccoon City was under the direct control of Wesker. He controlled its movements and could see via a tiny camera implanted into it's head and coat. The nemesis also encountered Ada and was about to kill her as he had seen though its eyes that she had betrayed them by teaming up with Leon. But at the last minutes, Wesker stopped Nemesis as 'she held a certain appeal to him'.
This is how Wesker knows of Leon when he contacts Ada in the Apple Inn in Death's Door.

Certainly a nice idea but no idea why Wesker would be in control of Nemesis, and of course we know Leon never encountered the creature.

We are getting the RE4 issue of ARMS translated as we speak, that second post, here's two details: Leon's handgun is made by Joe Kendo, who is a former SWAT member (like Barry, same SWAT team?) and the handgun is called the "Silver Ghost".

And feel free to show them to iambubbaq haha.

You mean Leon's handgun in RE4? I didn't know Capcom will go to such length for character backstory. Did they even make a photo for Joe Kendo too?

Yeah his RE4 handgun. Which is made up of designs from the H&K USP and SOCOM Mk23. No photo for Joe, sadly.

Also, his full name is Joseph Kendo but I suppose that was somewhat obvious haha.

I don't get it. Is ARMS magazine somehow affilitated with Capcom? If not then why would this take precidence over the y-cw.com story details?

The RE4 weapons designer worked with the magazine on this particular issue of it. There's an interview with him that we're also translating.

This could be massively irrelevant, but I'll ask anyway since we're on the subject of firearms.

News Bot, do you have the Biohazard 2 postcard book? At the end of the book, there's a whole section about the guns in the games (at least, that's what it looks like), and I've always been curious if it reveals anything interesting. Do you know what I'm talking about? If so, are there any plans to translate it?
