Why're you using two spoiler tags?! One is enough. Anyway...
Chell IS however the child of an Aperture employee, so it's not entirely out of the question that she may be related to Cave Johnson.
This was my main gripe with portal 2.
Although the puzzles had alot more elements (ie. the gels and faith plates), I didn't think the puzzles were more complex because of it. Simply because I think the scope for experimenting with the elements was alot narrower.
Another I issue I had, especially in the part where Spoiler:
, but also generally I found stretches of the game 'find the white tile to place a portal on', rather than any mentally challenging puzzle. And these parts were just boring.

Cave Johnson here.
Okay, you listening? The lab boys have told me that all that moon rock dust can be processed into something called conversion gel, which apparently makes a great surface material for generating portals. Before I forget, any disgruntled Australians who want to complain about how I run this company are instructed to follow the red line, the one that leads right to the damn exit! You're fired, pack your stuff, grab your things and don't let the door hit you on the way out.
You're no good to science and science is no good for you.

Funny, but Selfish has a point, the white gel was underused, actually a lot of the elements were. Remember the first videos we saw of the blue and orange gels? They looked fun and challenging, they got cut.

Then this got cut out

Why? The commentary (which was disappointing, not really in depth and nothing with the voice actors) say its because people bitched they looked too hard. Piss poor excuse if you ask me, the one and only thing they listen on and it leads to cut material, niceI really really hope the DLC coming soon (which is apparently free on all platforms) includes more SINGLE PLAYER content like these cut maps, i couldn't give a crap about some shitty co-op side story which in itself is a massive ass plot hole. I'd also like more commentary nodes throughout the game with relevant stuff to say and an option to play from specific parts of the game with the auto-save feature enabled. I know you can do it through the commentary menu but there's no auto-save with commentary on.
Cave Johnson here.
Do you like portals? I sure do! That's why I've decided that every door in the building will be replaced by portals! Want to get to the bathroom? Just pick up that handheld aperture device sitting nearby and make your own route there! No seriously, make your own route there before if you have no idea where the hell the bathrooms are in this place you're gonna be stuck for a good hour or so. Hope you got strong kidneys, because I sure as hell don't!
And I almost neglected to mention. If your name happens to be rewak, you're not part of the control group. That copy of Portal 2 you were given isn't even the finished product, the lab boys tell me it's something called a beta copy designed to encourage criticism of the product, you know, so the Metacritic score isn't a full 100 outta 100. Gotta have that realistic criticism, otherwise folks get suspicious.
One last thing if you're part of the control group and you have a defective copy of the game, then do let us know immediately because that's not supposed to happen. For everyone else, keep thinking with portals!

The first propulsion gel video is still in the game. The second is in the game, although broken up into two or three different test chambers, but all the mechanics are there. A modified version of the propulsion gel video is in the co-op campaign, and it's been improved.
As for the pneumatic vent, I imagine they realised it was much the same as the Excursion Funnels and cut them down. Valve have been pretty up front about cutting the fat wherever possible since Half-Life 2, which had some pretty blatant pacing issues which they always acknowledge.
Also, how does the co-op campaign create a plot hole?
Spoiler:
You're right about the first repulsion gel video, i saw white instead of beige and just added it, the second is totally Frankenstein'ed over a few chambers though and looks a lot more fun as it was. Like i said, couldn't care less about the co-op mode, so i didn't know the propulsion one was included there.
Actually TR I've been thinking, when life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade. Make life take the lemons BACK! GET MAD! I don't want your damn lemons! What am I supposed to do with these!?
