    Default New Wentworth Miller Interview

In a recent interview Wentworth Miller, who plays Chris Redfield in the forthcoming Resident Evil : Afterlife, revealed that he isn't a gamer and required the producers to create a montage of Chris Redfield moments to get to know the character he was playing. He claims he also did his research by going to "fan sites" and blogs to be as faithful to the character as possible. The rest of the interview talks about his experience working on the film and other things. The full interview can be read at the link below.

Honesty about his unfamiliarity with the source content and full openness about how he did his research is rather awesome of him. Hopefully he pulls it off well (although I guess me, like most others, don't have too high expectations for this movie - courtesy of the previous live action movies )

Check out the new TV spot added too, might be spoilerish for some, introduces a new character (or one that I don't remember seeing ever before).

I don't remember seeing that one either. And he doesn't remind me any game character. But, in the Alice's movies universe, this means nothing.

The only thing that can defeat power is more power. That is the one constant in this universe. However, there is no point in power if it consumes itself.

If you're talking about Spanish actor Sergio Peris-Mencheta, he's playing "Angel Ortiz".

I don't know why he'd go and read blogs about the character and things, without ever refering to the source material to relate it all back to...

Hopefully he didn't stumble upon the same goldmine we did when we did that b-roll podcast.

The same with Milla—she is the movie, she is RESIDENT EVIL, and you really see it the moment Paul yells “Action.”
Why is it in all these interviews that people feel the need to pucker their lips and kiss ass with every chance they get?

Good on Miller for being upfront about it all. The way he was quoted in the Comic Con stuff made him sound like he was almost too good for it all, but this interview re-states those misquoted comments with proper context. I have no more hope for the movie than I ever did, but at least, as some of the other actors have, he's tried his best to get the mythos behind the character in a way that works for him.

I was more startled by this declaration:

And then the movies came out, and [the filmmakers] did such a good job with them that they were everything a dude wants in a movie.
    wat.

Heh. I don't know about all the other 'dudes' out there, but I usually don't like it when movies suck gargantuan hairy gorilla cock.

Because that's how I feel about the Resident Evil movies.

The same with Milla?she is the movie, she is RESIDENT EVIL, and you really see it the moment Paul yells ?Action.? There is a huge turnover from the warm, loving mother that she is now to the bad-ass character we've all grown to love in the series.
    Huh?

To be honest, Milla is the only reason why I even saw these flicks. There was little else to like about 'em.

I doubt the low production value of the series (cheap cgi, wonky looking zombies and creatures, etc.) was the main draw. Or why the films continue to do well...

Yep. It must be Milla. She keeps a lot of ppl employed. Thus why they kiss her ass so much. Can't blame them.

I don't agree with Carnivol here. This franchise is known for a while and if I plan to work on a movie, then I should know the source. I personally would have picked up a controller and would've at least played RE5 . There are enough other TV Shows/Movies that are not based on anything , so he might as well do those. I just think that one has to be 100% devoted to the art form, especially when millions are watching. Since Paul Anderson didn't work with 100% of the source my opinion on this is completly irrelevent. My spelling must be horrible too.
