Capcom & Sony Pictures Announce "Resident Evil : Damnation"

I'm curious as to how this movie in particular will look in comparison to Degeneration. I'm also wondering what the storyline will be about.

Either way, I like the idea of another 3D movie. Hope it's good.

Hmmm. Could be better, could be worse. Leon starring again does put me off a little, but hopefully the makers listened to the complaints of the first one and will give him more personality and less super duper awesomeness.

Of course, in my world both the CGI and Live Action RE movies will be finished and there budget put to making new episodes of Firefly...

I wouldn't mind that! Firefly's life was cut too short. Ah how I miss the shenanigans of Malcolm Reynolds and his crew.

Way to totally make any argument you might have had(along with any credibility) meaningless. Yes, it's oh so clever to call her a bitch because, haha, she's a female. Real classy there. Seems like someone got under someone's skin there. I mean, seriously. Her comment at the balls-dropping may have been unnecessary, but it seems like someone could use a little more backbone, because, so what?

But as far as the issue is concerned, there is a certain truth to the whole Alice/Leon comparison. Both do rather impossible feats, but the difference is, at least in Re4, Leon had some personality. He wasn't some cold-stone, emotionless drone like he was in Degeneration. Anyone trying to say he had a tiny shred of personality in that movie is delusional. This coming from a guy who absolutely loves RE4. I'm not blind, nor bias. I honestly didn't really like Leon in Degeneration because of that. On the other hand, Alice has no real character to begin with than being a classical example of a Mary-Sue. She's totally unrelatable, boring as fuck kind of character, who's only somewhat redemmending quality is that she's got Milla Jovovich's hotness.

Now see, the comment about her being a bitch had more to do with showing how stupid that comment about censoring was. WTF difference does it make to censor or not to censor? You still get the gist of it either way. It was more to prove a point than to actually insult her, but I guess that point was lost.

The comment about life and internet forums was more or less factual: by spending any amount of time on an internet forum, we are, technically, wasting time that could be better spent doing something else. Still, I shouldn't have included it in my post as there was no reason to insult everybody else.

As for the Leon/Alice comparison, I explicitly said that I didn't like Leon in Degeneration for much the same reasons as you so I'm not sure if you were replying to me (which wouldn't make sense) or in general.

So yes, I certainly overreacted, but it takes two to tango and there was no reason for Rosetta to get "butthurt", the word of the day apparently, over my comments that her comparison was stupid.

Let's hope this movie is better than Degeneration. I have a lot of complaints about that movie but you can pretty much hear them all in the Podcast on it.

Zombies acting like vampires, the stupid ending, Leon the Android....

I've watched the movie through to completion once. The only reason I keep the DVD around is for the Bloopers which are more entertaining than the entire film.

But hey, Capcom might get it right this time.

Also listening to the Podcast is way better than watching the movie so I might just do that now.

Aw don't be so hard on the team behind Degeneration.

It was their first movie and they admitted that they had zero experience making a feature film. They had mostly done FMV or cutscenes.

It was a good first effort.

I'm just glad they got another shot at it.

Leon again? You know there are other characters Capcom, a lot of them, but hey if this keeps Leon out of the games then fine by me. At least Degeneration actually had zombies, a virus, a corporation, horror elements, you know the things that make up RE. It had a lot of problems though, the 3 i would most like fixed would be better CGI, better voice acting and i'd like to feel like i'm watching a movie rather than watching an opening FMV of a game that never starts.

Just as long as it's realistic enough as to if you're thrown across a great distance onto metal plating and you actually DIE, then I'm okay.

Speaking of which, does anybody remember the scene where Leon and Angela were being pulled by Curtis' tail downwards? Wouldn't the have been, like, pulled down and/or ripped apart? :|

I dunno about the tail thing. But I recently re-watched Degeneration and the thing that bothered me more is the wonky animation. The way characters move. Not very natural at all.

Like there is this part where Claire is looking out a window and she has both her hands pressed against it... that looks like something an adult wouldn't do unless he was a 5 year old looking at an animal at a zoo. That made her look like a slope-head.

So they need to work on the mo-cap a lot more. Or just watch some Pixar flicks. If Pixar can make a mouse act like a human, maybe Capcom/Sony can do the same for the protagonists in Damnation.

Another movie sounds good, don't really like Leon but anyone is better than Alice.
