Default Resident Evil 2 TotalConversion in Fallout 3

    Hey!
I just joined today, I've been looking for a decent RE message board for awhile and this seems like it'll be good

I've loved Resident Evil since day one, RE2 is my Favorite so I decided to remake the game in Fallout 3 after the Darkside Letdown.
You can check out Pics of it and videos on the Nexus-

An impressive use of the Fallout resources to mold them into Resident Evil. Great work indeed.

Impressive a bit overly dark though you can't see anything but I guess that's Fallout's fake atmospheric effect.

Fallout 3's lighting properties are vast and I can pretty much make the ambient light whatever I want, I chose complete blackness for the scary aspect.
Its actually quite playable, all the way to the Lab is done.
Its youtube's compression that makes all the blacks smudge over everything.
While playing though its great Just have to find a place I can upload it to since I have Darkside models in it.

Does that mean that you re-created everything from RE2, or you blocked some areas like shown in the video?

Everything, all rooms, locked doors ect. I took some creative rights with the puzzels because of Limitations. but its playable like the PS version
Working on Birkin G3 at the moment for the train fight then G4 for the storage room fight.
Nemesis will probably be the final boss since I dont have G5.

I was going to do RE 1.5 but its so incomplete I just went for RE2.
I scrapped the RE1 mod I almost finished and restarted it, Pics of the dining hall and Main hall on the Nexus.

Amazing piece of work. Will definitely try.
Are you creating all models yourself, or are you using models ripped from previous RE games?

Some are mine, some I got from free 3d model websites like the Police car. Resident evil models are ripped from RE0, REmake, Darkside and Umbrella chronicles.

The current version isnt available for download. Its 250mb zipped and I'm unable to upload it anywhere yet, I'm probably gonna throw it in a Torrent so people can download and play it.

A suggestion would be to make a mirror of it once completed on 4Shared as not everyone can access MegaUpload from what I've seen happen over on the RE4/5 modding forums (Capcom is fully aware of the forums there, however nothing has really been done regarding ported models and the like - so it seems to be fine as long as there's no profit made regarding them).

I'm just speaking from what I've experienced over there in regard to mods, porting things myself.

And sorry to be a pain, but would it be possible for you to upload some raw footage or use the higher quality on YouTube? As the compression blurring things together makes it a little tricky to see it in action (I would test it out myself, but I haven't gotten Fallout 3.... yet).

    Anyway, it does look good.

Thats Odd, because I watch all my videos after I post them and they all look great on my end. I do know the shutter and 1st gameplay ones arent the best but the others should be ok.

What I mean is the compression once they're uploaded onto YouTube - making the shadows and similar darker shades blend make it a little bit tricky to see all of the details in the darker spots on the footage, that's why I was just wondering if you had the raw footage as it's a little hard to make out some of the detail in those darker spots due to the blurring (whereas, although it's simple to see some on the screenshots, I do actually like to look at things as it's being shown in action).

Hopefully that makes sense as I feel like I'm incoherently rambling as I'm quite tired and am probably not making any sense.

This mod looks amazing. Keep up the good work.

I just have a few comments:
    - Is it possible to remove V.A.T.S.? I don't think it works well with Resident Evil.
    - Is it possible to remove/modify the HUD? I think it would be cool if you could put something like the Resident Evil 4/5 HUD in there.
    - Are you going to add in NPCs and the RE2 story, or is it just going to be gameplay?

I can't wait to play this in its finished version.

I'm currently unsure of how to remove VATS, and the HUD will hopefully be changed towards the end. It will be story as much as I can manage.

The nexus site is down, but the videos are still on my youtube channel
