Goes back even further than that, one of the original drafts of Alien (i think back when it was still called star beast) had an ancient aztec like pyramid that housed the eggs.
I wonder if they will explain the better technology even though this is a prequel? I realise its just due to todays better technology but still, would be nice to have it explained for once.

The whole ancient civilization thing goes back further than that though... Ancient astronauts and old Indian myths that mention them come to mind.
