I was actually replying to Dracarys opinion that this film is ripping off AvP's stuff about ancient civilizations. When all that ancient astronaut crap is something that has been out there in the general media since the 50's (or even before then).

But I replied using your post instead, because you can take criticism....

Incidentally, the films less that 3 months away now, who expects to at least see an Alien egg at the end of the film?
They said that the Alien DNA is in this film, but not that an Alien from the series will show up, so I figure maybe at the end they'll show a full formed egg and leave it at that.

No I don't think we will, I think Sir Ridley will be much cleverer than shoehorning an Alien image into the movie like that.

Anytime I hear that..I remember 'Hannibal'. While he didn't write it, I think he could have told a better story than he did. Granted it was a mediocre story to begin with but with how it was edited and how certain events played out...meh.

I think that seeing one egg at the end, would be perfect myself, but we shall see.

Aye I know his career has had a couple of lows, but his contributions to cinema and sci-fi earn him more than a few free passes for me.

Hell even if his filmography was just Alien and Blade Runner it would be enough.

No problem here. I usually have to watch Sir Ridley's films several times anyway in order to "get it". A few spoilers won't make a dent... in my case.

I'm, still trying to figure out if Deckard was a replicant or not.

Anyway that picture of the operating table and that creature is the most intriguing thing from the trailers. It looks like a kinda chest burster thing. Most interesting is the fact that the images have been colour tweaked and the following shots of Rapace post this scene (we think) appear as though she is covered in mud or oil (look at the glass of the operating machine) in the UK trailer, the proper colours are in and Rapace is actually covered in blood, so we can assume that in the actual movie, the glass on that machine is also covered as it appears to be. Brutal.

Plus Sir Ridley's movies are generally always R as well.

i agree the guy getting acid in face ( i hope we see it melt off) that could only be a R rating for sure and just the whole feeling overall it gotta be

Two months to go. Can't believe how fast 2012 is flying by.

Regardless of how Prometheus turns out, we should all be thankful for Ridley Scott for finally definitively blasting both AVP movies into the realm of non-canon for all eternity.

Just mainly setting up the film, there's a reasonably largish spoiler regarding one of the characters in this article, so be aware. But i'll say I'm mega strict on spoilers and this was one vetted for me in advance and I don't think there's anything in there that will ruin any aspect of the film for anyone. It's pretty much all in the trailers anyway, just clarified a little and expanded upon. Enjoy.

Excitement is seriously ott now. If only they'd confirm the R rating, but to be honest everything I read is now leaning toward the PG-13, unfortunately.
