This game definitely takes place after Resident Evil 4, but we are unsure if it takes place after Resident Evil 5. The press release for RE6 says the game takes place 10 years after the Raccoon City Incident. However, the Raccoon City incident took place in 1998, and 10 years later would make it 2008. Resident Evil 4 took place in 2004, and Resident Evil 5 took place in 2009. If we are being technical then a President can be in office for two terms (8 years), so if the President that Leon was working for in 2004 is still around then Resident Evil 6 would definitely have to be set in 2008. Then you have to factor in that he didn't get replaced from 2004-2008 with another President because he lost the election, or he was in office before 2004 so it could've been a different President since his term would've been up.

The only thing is the Capcom Press Release said:

Due to be by the President's side is his personal friend and Raccoon City survivor, Leon S. Kennedy, but when the venue suffers a bioterrorist attack, Leon is forced to face a President transformed beyond recognition and make his hardest ever decision.

So based on that, I would have to say it is the same President from RE4 because they are close friends. I mean Leon did save his daughter, and the President got him this top secret job. It only makes sense to be the same President from RE4 because of the back story as to why the President and Leon are close.

However, earlier someone discovered this overview for Resident Evil 6 at Xbox.com (http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Pr...5-d80243430819)

It says

That really makes no sense, and I am hoping it was just an error. Because if RE6 takes place in 2013 that would mean the Raccoon City incident occurred in 2003. Hopefully it's just an error and someone at Capcom didn't bother to research the timeline of the story before writing the press release/overview.

Hope this is not a story mode 6 player fest, but more of a mercenaries thing. If there is a "Versus" mode ala RE5. I will not get this. That is how much I hated versus. NAY I SAY!

Also 2013 is a good year to set the game, nice to have that 5 minutes in the future feel of the older games.

Lol thank you. Didnt feel like stating the obvious. She was a little girl after RE2 the president wasnt elected until later when she had grown up and changed appearance. Do the math it aint hard. You dont have to be so abnoxious you know. Its all about theorys right now and for you to put other peoples down is damn ignorant. I remember being laughed at by a certain someone on this form when I was 100% sure that the tube girl in the RE5 trailer was Jill and look how wrong I turned out to be. I think that theory is a hell of alot more clever than having her just dissappear and never heard from again.

Also thought I would post this here. It is the trailer slowed down in parts with the guys at GT showing some facts and theorys. There was a few things I didnt notice or havent heard mentioned.

Yeah, I thought it was damn obvious that the POTUS wasn't always the POTUS but was probably just a G-man or just regular politician at the time he first adopted Sherry - and I'm talking about the Ashley was Sherry all along theory that was posted here previously, for those just jumping into this thread. Its a theory like the others. Nothing official.

Anyway, yeah... even GT got into the whole theory craze.

Has any source made a rebuttal against IGN's claim the blonde girl is Sherry? I'm still taking it with a grain of salt, but I guess I'm surprised nothing "official" has cropped up since the article's release to directly argue it.

Haha, yeah. That's true. I guess I should have clarified with "in this lone trailer." I just hope the locations have some meat/substance to them and we can explore them properly. RE5 bothered me with too many location changes...though actual globe-trotting looks to be the case for RE6.

What was really funny in the gametrailer video was the pop up about broken down, burning cars making for great PS One era blockades.
