She does a very good impression of Sally Cahill if so. Though here's hoping that Cahill is back.

I admit, the one about a beam Leon can't push past but a weedy NPC can is annoying. That sorta thing has bugged me in games for fifteen years. Maybe I'm getting old...but I don't really recall the way being blocked by waist high stuff in the old games? Probably my rose tinted glasses, but most of the time when you needed an NPC's help, it was to move a box or car you can't move on your own?

Still, it's not something that should make people run screaming into the night or anything, but it would be nice to see them changed.

I think it breaks the immersion to see a character jumping onto flying helicopters one scene just be be thwarted by a knee high seat the next.

Yeah, it's a valid point. Just not a big enough floor to declare the world is ending. Hopefully the pitiful blockages can be replaced before it goes to retail...although one of the issues between having months between announcement and launch is you're gonna have a bitch of a time responding to critical feedback.

Probably. But there is still times to fix things if it's still in bug testing - hence the point in bug testing.

    Pitiful blockages?

Ya mean like in left4dead2 when a charger hits a small traffic cone that cancels the charge?

Resident Evil 6 made a strong first impression two months ago at its Captivate unveiling. Even to someone with no particular affection for the series (namely, myself),
I rolled my eyes right there. As it's nearly impossible not to come across as a fan of the series (on a forum about RE) my own opinion will be biased but apparently this guy literally just made the article to come across as the different man. I don't know how many times they, the producers, kept saying that they are doing it as a fan service.

People cried that there was no survival horror. So CAPCOM said they are putting dramatic horror "A blend of action and survival horror" into the game and that even a full campaign is more survival then action. Did this Perish guy think he was gonna be scared in a 'loud room' with no headphones? Derp.

Some more prefer the approach that was 5. So CAPCOM went ahead and put in a full campaign which seems to be more directed on action rather then survival.

Some people want something new. So CAPCOM went ahead and are experimenting with another campaign that focuses more on melee and seems to be a blend of what the original intention for Biohazard 4 was.

People cried over the silly gun system that plagued over RE4/RE5 (no offense but it was stupid to pick up money and purchase weapons, imo) so they're gonna make you work at finding weapons and ammo again, more so for one campaign over the other.

People cried that RE5 was way too short. Three campaigns this time that's 7-8 hours long each without exploration and possibly the unlock fourth campaign of Ada Wong which is to be on the disc.

People cried that they want to see Chris and Leon confront each other since for over ten years now, half these characters never crossed paths with one another in a series (which is pretty rare) so they put in both Chris, Leon, Ada, and even brought back Sherry (probably as a fan service for people whining about her also) into the game after making a build-up that she was somewhat important.

This guy then went ahead and complained how RE6 seems to be stuck in the past and doesn't move forward. What does he want them to do, go to space and face off against asari zombies while doing zero jump gravity and using a 'Tyrant Cutter'? All the stuff he cried about are the elements which made up the series. What a total tool.

Wah it has a mansion like RE1. A lot of fans like RE1, again fan service.

Wah Leon's campaign looks like Raccoon City. A lot of fans like RE2, again fan service.

Wah they have a NEMESIS-like creature. A lot of fans like the NEMESIS in RE3, again fan service.

Wah I don't like the HUD system. So they gave you three different HUD systems to pick from apparently, again fan service.

Wah I don't like force co-op. So they made it where the AI partner doesn't even get in the way, again fan service.

Wah I prefer solo play. You can play the game offline and it won't affect your game. Fan service.

Wah I want co-op. You can play the game with two or even up to four people at certain crossover parts in the game. Fan service.

Someone the other day even posted a picture up of a scene which looked like it foreshadowed Code: Veronica with the Tyrant in the back of the airplane.

This entire game seems to be one big fan service of the series. There is something for everyone it seems. I don't see why that is a bad thing. I think this game is going to top both RE4 and RE5 just based on what I seen so far and they, the producers, are saying that they just touched the tip of the ice on what was revealed. I'm glad they didn't show anything that is considered horror because I don't want to know everything before the game is even released (RE5 marketing anyone). I don't see one legitimate excuse to be crying over anything. A decent story, decent game play for everyone who is a fan of the series and perhaps closure for some of the characters that we as fans come to know and appreciate throughout our years as fans.

I was at Barnes&Noble yesterday, and I noticed the latest issue of GamesTM had a rather sizable article regarding Resident Evil 6. There wasn't a whole lot of new information, as it was mostly covering what was shown and discussed at Captivate, but there were a couple nuggets I found interesting.

The story and script were apparently penned by a "noteworthy Hollywood screenwriter," though no name was given. Also, when asked about possible playable characters for Mercenaries outside of the game's main cast, Sasaki dodged the question, but he did say the three most requested characters for Mercenaries were HUNK, Barry Burton, and Alex Wesker. Just keep in mind that this is in NO WAY a confirmation that these three characters will be in RE6's Mercs.

Didn't RE5 had a "Hollywood screenwriter" as well?

I don't think so. I thought that the cutscenes were handled by a Hollywood director, not the actual story.

Keep in mind that Revelations had an "actual" writer, too, and look how that turned out...
    Mass production? Ridiculous!

I meant that they got an acclaimed writer (regardless of his background) to write the story, and it turned into a convoluted mess that seemed complex only for the sake of complexity. In no way do I think that Revelations was great story-wise; in fact, I think it sticks out as the most unrealistic story in the entire series. Floating cities? Whale BOWs? Triple agent shit? How the oceans don't become infected after the whale BOW dies and ocean creatures start feasting on its virus-infected corpse...

I wish they would go back to the way the stories were told in the original games. Remake, 2, 3, and CVX were amazing from a story standpoint, but lately everything is just so massive and "epic" that the subtlety is lost.

Here we go again with that "everything after the RE4 is wrong" bullshit. Jeez.

Well in defense to that argument, RE5 came after RE4 and split the community entirely.
