That is acceptable... as a start. XD

    Back on topic:

There is one thing that bothers me about RE6...Mainly the individual campaign play lengths. Seven to nine hours playing as a BEGINNER sounds really short. :S I know it's more like the RE0-3 titles in regards to length, but in this day and age, that sounds like modicum of game play for a $60-$70 game. It better be an epic seven to nine hours.

I'm not excited because I didn't especially enjoy RE4 - fun to play, but I have a lot of games that are fun to play, and those games sometimes have a plot. RE5 was...eh. Umbrella Chronicles and Darkside Chronicles...eh. The only recent game I have an interest in is Revelations, which I can't currently play.

Essentially, the new games have nothing that attracted me to the older ones. No exploration, few serious puzzles and the action heavy gameplay eliminate the few horror aspects. I don't expect anything from RE6 but yet more action and even less horror, exploring and puzzles.

Having said that, Leon's scenario may be good. Not good enough to make me actually buy RE6, sadly, but we shall see.

Well if you did your best bet is bargain bin or the inevitable "X" edition to follow. Point is, if you're only interested in one scenario then pay what suits you for 1/3 of the game.

I fully intend to, and I intend to pay second hand 'cos I ain't giving Capcom any money. It is going to take something phenomenal to make me move from this stance.

IMO the people who are excited about RE6 are mostly hyped because they're suckers for the story element - and the characters. And I say this without trying to offend anyone. It's perfectly fine to get all excited because OMG SHERRY IZ BAK!

However, I'm waaay to old school to fall for that alone. I really want to know how this one will play like. Gameplay over everything else, here. The story can be cool and all. But once you see it on a first run, you skip all cutscenes and the files on a second run. The gameplay is what will always turn a game into a keeper. And not something you gonna place on a shelf and forget about it. Making you regret buying it.

BTW, speaking about recent games, I wasn't even sold on Revelations and waited a full week AFTER it came out before I decided to buy it. Because I wanted to read actual reviews from regular players. I wanted to know how the gameplay was like.

I'm gonna do the same thing with RE6. I can always watch the cutscenes on good old Youtube, if the gameplay turns out to play like ass.

So yeah... pardon me for not going bonkers for RE6 yet. I need to see MOAR 'bout that gameplay.

The thing you can take comfort from RE6 Darkmoon is the Revelations style is carrying over to RE6, Leons scenario will be more horror that is a given.

Capcom says RE6 is more of a Horror Entertainment type of package, so let's give it a chance I say, why not give the chance to something that delivers on different fronts to horror and not just one.

And I personally rather RE6 with it's multiple scenarios, characters and atmospheres to be
unigue rather then Leon's part being 30+ hours, the story is far to big to have the same thing over and over.

I hope Capcom delivers. They have a HUGE team working on RE6. The biggest team ever.

That's why I expect some good results. But still... I dunno. I gotta keep my expectations low for now.

I agree, with the main man gone it is always a mystery what we will get, but thankfully from my view RE6 is dark, the virus is a monstrosity, as for the gameplay we have move and shoot, we have player controlled dives and evades, a advanced melee system, taking cover when needed, a "Assassins Creed" styled character interaction with the environment.

Bottom line, if you have a 360 and Dragons Dogma for the demo lets see how you like it, if you gotta watch it on youtube (like myself) then let's cross our fingers.

So No Hope Left just updated: http://www.nohopeleft.com/mass-praying-pics

I like how they're going with vague civil unrest instead of an explosion-y apocalypse. This isn't too far off from what's actually happening in a lot of countries today.

They could have the biggest team, but that old saying "bigger doesn't always mean better" should follow. The game may be great, but not because there's a lot of people working on it.

That's true, a huge team of 3D Artists, Programmers and other developers does not mean instant greatness, I think it means Capcom are giving it their all and if it's good, it's good. Unfortunately as a fanbase we will always find things we do not like about the new entries in the series, but like Revelations we as a fanbase can compromise to a certain degree.

Biggest problem with the recent games is the stories they've chosen to go with.

4 was a good side story the pushed the series into a new direction...though it did need some more horror mixed in.

5 was a bad story that ended up as a rush job to finish the original story arc, it had no horror, and was mostly a re-hash of RE4.

6 so far...well, I dunno. it seems like its trying to tie up the loose ends of the original story arc, and move the series into a new direction with new protagonists...but so far Jake and Peirce arent that interesting, and Sherry should be interesting but instead feels like they're grasping at straws to placate the fanbase.

The game feels too manufactured, and doesnt have 'that special touch'. Last RE game I played that still had that special touch was 4, even though it wasn't a perfect game, it still felt like an RE game.

I personally think that 5 story is great. Miles over RE4 on the very least. Alsp we only have seen like 5 lines of
Jake and Sherry, so yeah. I shall enjoy the raging fanservice CAPCOM is pulling.

Well that's interesting... Never heard someone say RE5's story was 'great'. Personally, I wouldn't put it at 'great' level, but it was still okay. XD But that's a fair point, we haven't seen much from the Sherry/Jake scenario, so who knows, it may end up much better than we think right now.

Well, great to the series level, its not like RE stories have been masterpieces (except, IMO Code Veronica)

Meh, I guess that's true enough. xD I actually thought RE4 had an interesting story... :S Not so much about what was going on with Leon, but what was going on in and around this little village. It's a tragic story that seemed more personal than the tragedy in Raccoon City, not sure why.

As other posters have noted, it seemed like RE6 is poised to be the "bridge" between the old characters' stories (Leon and Chris) and the next generation (Piers, Jake, Sherry and maybe Helena too). Of all the newcomers, Capcom's been promoting Jake and Sherry the hardest, for reasons that became obvious in the second trailer. So Capcom had better give them a decent story if they want fans to accept them as the new main characters.

I can agree with that tough. But the same could be said about Kijuju. Or worse if you consider what is usually going on in that kind of african countries

Or the cake could be a lie, so to speak. This is my theory; Sherry and Jake die in China due to an oversight by the Capcom translation team, Carla Ramades is actually Billy Coen (had to do SOMETHING to escape the authorities) and will go on to star in his/her own spin-off titles, Chris and Leon will discover that they're actually Umbrella made test tube babies used to test the new "E-virus" which causes serious testosterone production and everlasting life (which they will spend chasing zombies on Mars), It's there where Leon will admit that he was Jill Valentine all along.... Oh, and Piers is actually Ozwell E. Spencer's mini-me.

A scene from Leon's scenario I'm sure not everyone has seen yet:
