    I was referring to Bayonetta.

Ah, never mind then - thought you were meaning between the early version and now.

Who knows how much has been changed under the surface since then, I just found it strange the same watermelon tutorial still exists. Graphically I'd say it looks about the same level of design as something like Vanquish which needed to be fast and have lots of enemies and animation happening.

Demo is up! GOLD locked though so I can't even try it, until next week or whenever it's open for all. I don't even know if I'm convinced of this one at all Bayonetta and DmC seem far more realised and sure given the awkward development this has had . . .

It was getting better previews than DmC got and that turned out reasonably successful so I maintain hope that it is a good partnership in the end through all the drama.

So where did they eventually decide this fits in the MG universe? I remember them saying MGS4 prequel, sequel and own continuity at different points on development.

It's now set after MGS4. The demo alone sets the placing with talks of the downfall of SOP and what's happened with the PMC forces in the time since. Platinum asked to set the story there to give them more freedom on the story and design as locking in Raidens story before MGS4 had more limitations.

Probably the worst place they could have put it then. After all of MGS4 and becoming human again and all the crap, he goes back to being a ninja?

How is that any different from him doing a complete reversal of the development he received in MGS2?

It's rather fun. On mission four at the minute. Some of the designs remind me of Power Rangers, and the camera is absolute arse at times. But it's pretty great.

Platinum really are one hell of a studio.

Glad I'm not alone on this, hope it flops and becomes non canon.

Hope it succeeds. The MGS series became one big joke with MGS4. Revengeance is at least a joke with quality and I would like to see more of it.

c'mon, say what you will about the story but you can't deny the games had quality.

MGS4 was complete and utter shit. A terrible game, a terrible story. Its only noteworthy feature was its ridiculous production values that could've gone toward something you could actually play for at least half the time the goddamn system is on.

I say that as a massive fan of MG, MG2, MGS1, MGS2 and MGS3, and even the Ac!d games and Ghost Babel. While I wouldn't say Revengeance is a step in the "right" direction, it's certainly a good step in the direction MGS4 suddenly took the series.

This. At least this is a fun looking action game instead of pretending to be a decent follow up the the older games.

    Thoughts on Revengeance;

-Raiden's actor sounds like he's holding his nose whilst trying to immitate Hayter.
-Camera is absolutely atrocious at times.
-Although the tutorial explains the basics, other acquired skills are poorly explained/demonstrated (if there are extra tutorials in the UNLOCKABLE/SECRET VR missions, then that's even more stupid)
-Good game, but I think DmC's way better in so many ways.

(Can't wait for Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta 2, though. My WiiU is ready.)
