This is the unofficial official 1.5 restoration and preservation thread done by a mysterious team. The spokesman for the team at the forums is user BZork. But since the team wants to be as mysterious as possible, don't expect him to say anything that isn't at least cryptic. This "team" is performing a full "restoration" (i.e.: making a buggy beta match retail quality by adding planned stuff, polishing models, adding cutscenes, etc.) on one of the legendary beta builds ever to fall in hands outside of the creators' company: Resident Evil 1.5. (which is a scrapped version of RE2). So, watch the thread's main page, when it's released the download links will be placed at this very thread on the first post.

Instructions: After selecting your "main cast", press SELECT on Pad 1 to open up the debug menu. Use Left and Right to change the room index, press SQUARE to warp to it. To access higher pages of the room index (to access the factory, sewers, etc.), press TRIANGLE.
Please notice that this is a very early version of the team's work-in-progress mod, so stay put and wait for the final, retail quality 1.5!

Looks pretty real to me, but it's hard to say with how good some of the people here on the forums are at hacking the game now. Usually the only way I can tell is in motion, screenshots are becoming difficult to discern.

I hope they release the original, and not just their fan-mod. I suppose the latter would be close enough, but still.

I'm betting that anyone going through the effort of fixing things will release the original as a comparison. It's what I'd do. If it's the Curator's version then it might be kinda interesting, as Faceless Kendo shows it wasn't terribly complete.
