Default Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Collection (Post impressions here)

We know that ports can be hit or miss when it comes to Capcom titles. The latest follows both the Umbrella and Darkside Chronicles remastered in HD for PS3 and playable with the PS Move controller.

This thread covers player input and whether this product is good or not. So for people playing it feel free to share your impressions.

    1. Have you played the Wii versions? If so, does this port follow it closely?

    2. How is the HD resolution?

    3. How does the game handle with the Move controller? Is it responsive and accurate. Do you enjoy playing it on here as opposed to the Wii if you've tried the games on there?

    4. Would you recommend this to friends or fans? Or do you prefer one Chronicles game over the other for people to buy? (Both are sold separately and bundled together)

Grabbing it once it goes up on EU PSN tomorrow.

Since there's only a bundle on US PSN at the moment, I can't see what sizes they are in the description, but for anyone who's grabbed them; what size are they? (I'm on a 60gb and haven't bothered to grab a larger HDD, so space is a luxury)

I can only look at the PSN versions but:

    Umbrella Chronicles: 5472 MB
    Darkside Chronicles: 6612 MB

Can I ask that people confirm whether or not the Umbrella Chronicles FMVs are now in HD? I know that DC is.

Gah! I'll need a larger HDD then. That's pretty much the exact amount of free space I have right now.

I should probably know already but can I ask how much they are going for? I want the Europe release but I can judge from the US price.

€26.99 / £21.99 is the price Capcom gave for the two together in the press release. Except in Germany, because the set isn't being released only Darkside Chronicles alone for €14.99 - classification/censorship issues I suspect.

They also release seperately later on July 18th for €14.99/£11.99 each.

For people in U.S. that's $26.99 for the bundle. Playstation plus has it for $24.29.

And despite the icons set up for each title individually the bundle is only available to purchase at this time.

And I'll take a look if they can be transcoded to a more common video format directly from the game's files.

Also will need to buy a new external hard drive for PS3.

The UC videos are just upscaled. They look better than what was on the Wii but they aren't really HD. The DSC videos looks pretty darned good IMO.

The games themselves are pretty much improved. UC no longer has slowdowns and the game runs smoother all around. DSC looks great and runs smooth. Too bad the games aren't in 5.1 though..

As for little changes the game auto saves. The loading screen is different. Umbrella logo in the center that you sadly can't shoot off.

It goes without saying, but if you have the Move controller then use it. I'm still adjusting to playing with a dualshock 3 but it's not too difficult a feat. Just a pain when trying to get all the collectables.

By the way the Japanese limited edition of Biohazard Chronicles HD Selection comes with Wesker's Extra Report & Darkside Report.
Makes me wonder if it's done in a similar manner like the one from years ago, describing the origins of Progenitor Virus, Nemesis parasite, Lisa Trevor etc.

Still debating whether to buy this disc version or not.

Damn Japan.. They always get the good shit.
The only thing that can defeat power is more power. That is the one constant in this universe. However, there is no point in power if it consumes itself.

Gonna pick this up today I think. Haven't played the Chronicles for a few years so it will be fun to go through them again. I don't have PS Move though. Is it worth getting just for this? How frustrating is it to play with the controller?

Curses! I forgot my Vita at home... was planning on using remote access to start the dowbload so it'd be complete by the time I'm home later tonight... slow ass PSN downloads!
