I never mentioned any names and yes I do have a good grasp of what I say and if CrimsonElder does not like my posts then please ignore them, it's not like I cared for some disrupting behavior of his.

As for the current RE6 being scrapped if it was even financially worth it for Capcom to do it then I guess we could expect elements from the version we know of taken into the next.

BTW, in all your posts, you never actually answered the original question, which was: "What would you do if Capcom axed the current RE6?"

I would be surprised obviously and that wonder of why, why was this version scrapped and what do they plan on doing with the game.

But we are so use to seeing scrapped versions at this stage I think we might becoming immune to it!

It is very unlikely that Capcom would axe RE6 the way it is now. Things are going perfectly good for them, very successful marketing and the game is pretty much guaranteed to sell like hotcakes. It already has plenty of action and explosions to be appealing to most of mainstream players so if they'd want to change it, they could simply add more action to the already existing RE6.

Anyways the topic is about "What would you do?" so I wouldn't do anything. Simply accepted it and waited for a re-worked version.

There's been more then enough of publicity and media coverage of RE6 already, enough to fully experience the game heh. But that is an issue with a lot of big budget blockbusters nowadays - they show you too much.

I personally don't expect the game to hit its projected sales (7m). Maybe like... 4m, at best.

I would really like to be proved wrong though.

Going by the current pre-sell count at my shop and the general performance of RE5 on a global scale vs my area ... I'd say it'll most certainly reach those numbers, but not in the launch window - of course (But I'll be a monkey's uncle if it's not at 2/3 of that, at least, by New Year.)

Also; I fully agree that they're just showing way too much in their trailers these days. Especially way too much "potential end-game" stuff. Modern day game design needs to be better at keeping secrets and letting word-of-mouth sorta push things. Nothing wrong with fancy trailers and expensive marketing campaigns, but it sucks when there's nothing to discover for yourself in a game. I watched my brother play through Resident Evil 5 and he'd never seen anything of it (and he's a pretty hardcore mainline RE fan from the days of yonder, but came kinda late-to-the-party on RE5). It was pretty amazing to see how the game literally blew his mind all over the walls and floors of his living room.

Also, if they canned RE6 now --- OMFG! BEST FUCKING GAME EVER! FUCK YOU CAPCOM, COULD'VE SOLD BETTER THAN ALL OF COD COMBINED! FUCK YOU! BEST RE IS CANNED RE!

I'm kinda looking foward to RE6, although years of abuse by Capcom means I still whimper pitifully and try and hide from there new release because I expect hideous, hideous abuse...so I actually keep expecting them to cancel the damned thing. RE2 is almost certainly better than 1.5, but 3.5 was definitively more interesting for me than the afternoon action movie of RE4.

If they did cancel the game, I'd probably just shrug and wait for RE6: Tits, Ass and Explosions edition where Sherry, Claire and Jill fight zombies topless because they were all at a nudist colony when it happened (but all the zombies are clothed because rotting boobies don't sell). But then, again, I have about as much faith in Capcom as I do Zeus...

i really believe people understimate RE fanbase. they say if RE still bounded to the survival horror, it would be forgotten. but i doubt. we still hear about mario, metroid, zelda, and they not changed so much to survive.

and they say too RE4 is the revolution, many games copied the style, blahblahblah, i dont care.

and, since we are talking about RE6, do you think leon have a bad running animation(too lowered, almost falling)?

The "problem" with RE keeping the classic style is the fanbase's constant focus on continuing narratives and recycling of main characters.

RE1/RE2 -> RE4/RE5 are actually very good samples of character development through gameplay.
The old games featuring "first encounter/first day on the job" scenarios, while the most recent ones have been the same battle hardened chars in "Same shit, different day" scenarios.

Guess this was partly the plausible horror appeal of 3.5, the fact that it took a battle hardened Leon and messed with his mind ... of course, I guess Silent Hill and Eternal Darkness already doing it so darned well put the game in a "me too" position in terms of execution.

Another series worth noting for its natural style change between each entry; Dead Space. While we've yet to see the final result of DS3, it felt RIGHT in Dead Space 2 to have Isaac bitch and moan the way he does. Going from that to slightly more Dudebro-ish combat also seems "right" for DS3 as long as it's told through the eyes of Isaac.

well, we all know RE6 is done, now is burn copies, print boxes, and develop the lacking details. they still have a pc version to do.

but this sequence may not be aborted. i admire the new free cam, and the customizable view(althought camera distance i think is fixed) i hated the moving cross hair(the other games when u shoot, it becomes wider), and the fighting stuff, i sense the game a little bit street fighter, TKOF, DBZ, japanese-style fighting(quick-short-repetitive attacks). and hell, i dont like ada wong, people overestimate her too much; in the capcom's reunions, if the 1st idea is leon, the 2nd is ada> boring....

lets think...if a friend of mine likes shooter-action... and ask for a game, i will not recommend RE... and if a friend of mine likes horror, i will not recommend RE either... so, capcom must choose a side someday... for now, i cant wait to see RE6's metacritic scores, sells numbers are useless eheh

I thought it was gonna hit up to about 5 mil, but like you I'd like to be proven wrong, considering that the collectors edition sold out in my area and I live in an area full of bro gamers who only play Call of Duty.

Your completely right Darkmoon, I don't think either of us want our visits to the forum to consist of endless bickering so CrimsonElder I extend my hand in peace and let's just get along.

Meh, play the demo. It would be kinda cool to have a demo of a cancelled RE game, especially one that is as lengthy as it is. Sealed copies of Dragon's Dogma would become a very prized item, although the code would be invalid sooner or later.
