Christoph Waltz - the antagonist of the film - just won the Cannes' award for the best male actor.

Saw a preview for this before Star Trek and thought it looked good. Might not see it in the theater but with definately rent it when it comes out.

Sounds like a typical Tarantino film to me. Don't get me wrong - I LOVED his movies when I was like 15-17..but eh, I guess I won't be checking this one out.

Ignore my last post because it appears that the film received more negative reviews than good ones. These are the major reasons why people didnt like the movie:

    -It's too long
-The Basterds themselves, including Brad Pitt are off-screen for long periods of time and sometimes Brad's character feels like a supporting one.
    -It isnt historically accurate
-It’s an action movie that has barely any action
    -It's a spoof not a war film

This film just seems to sound better the more I hear about it.

It probably helps that I've liked every Tarantino film I've seen.

The film premiered this morning in Cannes and people say that it's best Tarantino flick since Jackie Brown and Pulp Fiction. According to reviews the main antagonist of the movie - a German Jew Hunter - is stealing the show from Brat Pitt.

Also the film features the David Bowie/Giorgio Moroder song Cat People. Do you hear that Mr. Spencer?

He started writing the script when Pulp Fiction was being filmed. 1994 if I'm not mistaken.
