I think I may of tracked down where this took place, there's some footage of a woman showing various game demos to some guy including sonic xtreme, the room looks exactly the same.Originally posted by Enigmatism415 View Post@imacwesker
I apologise if this is the wrong place to ask, but were you the one who originally unearthed this famous photograph?

If so, or even if not, do you know anything more about the event, date, photographer, etc?

Not necessarily. Remember, it was the film eraOriginally posted by Enigmatism415 View PostThanks for the information. The reason this photograph intrigues me is that this unknown photographer almost certainly took more than one photograph of a demo station at this event. I'll try to reach out to some contacts at Famitsu (it's a long shot, but it couldn't hurt right?).

Indeed, post-PSM era for sure (the 2F Lift Hall is depicted). It's a possibility that this is the very build that Kim's source got his paws on.Originally posted by geluda View PostClearly it's from post-PSM era that's for sure, perhaps a potential source for the 80% build?
I plan to move to Japan for work, and one of my friends has a friend who used to work for Capcom's Osaka office. I'll see what I can do ;-)...Originally posted by geluda View PostThis has been mentioned many times but nobody really has the money to travel to Japan and live there while specifically trying to hunt down contacts and bargain with them.

Guest repliedThis has been mentioned many times but nobody really has the money to travel to Japan and live there while specifically trying to hunt down contacts and bargain with them. This is something that has happened many times in the past in different communities, I remember specifically some old and forever lost Kung Fu movies have been found in this exact same way, but the money required to make a venture like this possible is just unrealistic for the average RE fan.Originally posted by Graco View PostI've seen it mentioned several times that the Japanese aren't particularly interested in 1.5. Do we have have any contacts over there? Establishing strong connections with the JP fanbase may help surface a copy from journalism leftovers from back in the day. Especially if they're mostly unaware of the immense desire there is for 1.5 builds.

No, it was used by Famitsu to illustrate an article about why Capcom did cancel RE1.5 (same link as above). Famitsu often used images/pictures without providing any background information about them.Originally posted by Enigmatism415 View PostIf so, or even if not, do you know anything more about the event, date, photographer, etc?
In my opinion - but that's only my opinion, based on the position of the arms from the guy is the tagged jacket, this picture shows a playable demo of RE1.5. The players may be journalists. The screens 'booth" seem to be related with a press event (either a Tokyo Game Show or something more private and "for the press only")

I've always been grateful for those videos, imacwesker. They were a ray of light back in the dark time before the events leading up to the MZD build. Parts of them are still useful - which goes to show how ahead of the curve you were back then on certain things.Last edited by RMandel; 06-06-2013, 12:35 AM.

No worries, I am still surprised by the amount of people who didn't "recognize" me. And just to be clear: yes I work at Sony as a video editor, no I don't have the 80% beta.Originally posted by Enigmatism415 View PostWow, I didn't even think it was you at the time; I just wanted you to make an enhanced version like you did with the GoroMacida video... Sorry for inadvertently calling you out back then!
I stopped managing my website in 2007 but it is still online and the RE1.5 section is here: http://survivhor.biohazardfrance.net/RE1.5/Originally posted by Graco View PostI tried to find your website to add to the Further Reading section but it seems that you're no longer running it?
My Youtube playlist (including some "walkthroughs" I made before we had access to the footage from Curator): http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLBF65E78CA85FB9C7
My "Resident Evil 1.5 Trailer" short movie and behind the scenes videos: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLD040C8A30EB77132
That's all I have about RE1.5 - yet ;)

I tried to find your website to add to the Further Reading section but it seems that you're no longer running it?Originally posted by imacwesker View PostI am not sure (English is not my first language), but I feel like this text mixes both the RE2 beta vers2 and the video contain of the BHDCDS bonus disc... The first is a playable beta of RE2 and the second are 4 videos of BH1.5, available only in the Japanese edition of Director's Cut.
Also, thank you for the suggestions and comments everyone. I appreciate feedback.Last edited by Graco; 06-05-2013, 04:32 PM.

+1Originally posted by Lanzagranadas View PostGreat work Graco.
Just a few observations: Regarding Q04, I`ve seen both Biohazard 2 trial edition and Biohazard 2 beta 2 on torrent/emule masked with the name "1.5", you could add a brief description of BH2TE and BH2b2 for those people who may not know what they are or confussing with the real 1.5.
And thank you for finally making this FAQ by the way; I think that Kim and Alzaire would approve.
