Sales were abysmal worldwide for DOD. To be honest, I hope they don't make another one if it's going to follow DOD's suit.

The series lost its charm after Oni2. Oni3 was a really good game, but the Reno connection got old after a while. It was a very impressive game technically and its engine was used to start off Framework.

The first 3 (including the overlooked Genma which had DOD US difficulty) are still my favorite. Too bad my copy of Genma was stolen.

Bummer, I actually liked DOD, granted the co-op system left much to be desired but it had a decent story, but I guess I must concede that it didn't feel like Onimusha, the soundtrack although good in some points was too Techno, and the angles/locations were pretty dull for the most part.
Although i liked the intertextual referencing to the previous games and how alot of loopholes in the game were answered by the end.

ooh i might like DOD i like onimusha 2 so far the best. right now i'm in the beginning of onimusha 3 but i'm trying to level up enough.. i always do that i level myself up to the maxxx then go on with the game. this onimusha seems harder though. is it just me or was 2 really easy compared to 1 and 3

Two was easier with exception to the final boss who was a little harder.
Although I found 2 to be disappointing, just didn't feel the same as Oni 1 or 3.
And the Rekka Ken, Jubei's final weapon stank.
