Up Coming Video Games

After playing the demo on Live, I will probably be getting Stranglehold too. It's a pretty excellent shooter, though my only concern is that it might become stale very quickly, which is a problem considering I play most new games in large chunks.

A few others I should have mentioned, though I don't see a few of them hitting by fall:

Now is a good time to get them. Just make sure that the Premium system was manufactured after 07/04/07 and you will be rewarded with an HDMI port, a new heat sync, 65nm chipsets and a quieter DVD player (thats the seller for me).

What disappointed me most about Stranglehold was the graphics. Unreal 3 games always have this slight gleam to them that looks completely unnatural. It is uncanny. Also, any PS3 owners looking forward to this game will have a while longer to do so. It was pushed back to an indisposed time, presumably next year.

Stranglehold wasn't delayed at all despite some confusion; it's out on Sept 17, a bit later than the 360 version. Not sold on the game myself, but a HD Hardboiled is tempting.

Sync, sink, its all the same ;). I just read the bit about the chips still being the ZEPHYR batch, seems that my sources were jumping to conclusions! I certainly agree that the game seems to fit the profile for a rental, just the right tempo for a few fun, visceral afternoons.

Has anyone played the Bioshock demo? I found it to be very engrossing. The atmosphere was phenomenal, really gave off a Condemned creepy vibe and despite the demo being purposefully linear I was still able to set up a few traps for people. Overall I'm pretty excited for the release.

Heh, the killer app for PS3, Heavenly Sword, got a 7 on IGN. The gameplay seems to be badly criticized.
While I somehow felt the gameplay is a bit weak, i didnt really expect that score...I'm sure its a great game but seems that MGS4 is the only one who might do something good for the PS3 in the next future.

Criticizing an action game for lacking puzzles is downright idiotic and both of IGN's editors did that. The core engine is solid they say, but I'm not trusting either review. Roper in particular can kiss my ____ after giving God Hand a 3.

There have been 3 other 9's and one perfect score, so I'm going to rent it first. The demo didn't do much for me so I'm reserving my judgement for the final game. The demo felt like a sluggish God of War, which itself is a series I never liked to begin with.

R&C seems to be my next BD PS3 game. T5 DR online is out next week.
